"American Express Publishing and The Harrison Group found that 67 percent of the top one percent of American earners support higher income taxes."

" the wealthy support higher taxes as part of a balanced solution to the government debt problem that includes spending cuts.

That's fine, but it won't solve our problem. We still spend too much so it will have to be a combination effort, there's no way around it.

True. That's been the conclusion of the Democrats for quite some time.

It was hard to hear while the Republicans were hysterically pandering before the election. With defeat, the Republican Noise Machine has lost some volume.

    Let saner minds prevail.

Agreed. And Democrats have been saying it all along, despite what right-wingers have been saying about Democrats. Democrats are even willing to do $10 in cuts (even including pet programs) for every $1 of tax increases on the wealthy.
