    Title says it.

I am currently living in the east coast.
    I don't quite like here.

Is west coast more gay Asian friendly?

Can anybody lives in the west coast share their experience?

Lived on both coasts and for my own life, found the east coast to be a little less friendly in general. West Coast has a much larger Asian population and if you have a choice, SF and Seattle seem to have a fairly large Asian population, although you could not pay me enough to live in Seattle.

Okay. I will share some experience first.
This morning I got a message from a 21 yo college student on grindr.
He told me to block him because he's not interested in me.

    WTF!
    I never messaged him before!
And he just came to my face telling me he doesn't like me.

    Two things:

    1. Grindr scenario - the college guy who contacted you was probably by mistake.
    2. The west coast is not immune to immature crap like you experienced.

That said, I have been to the west coast (San Diego, San Fran and Vegas) to visit and I have found the people in general to be friendly. I haven't noticed whether they're more Asian friendly because race relations is the last thing I think about when meeting people.

I wouldn't say it's more gay friendly. The weather is certainly better. icon_lol.gif

Try Hawaii. About 40-45% of the population is Asian, with a substantial percentage of them being foreign-born. It's quite normal to be Asian here even if you're an immigrant.

From your written English, my guess is that you're an immigrant(?) I've lived on both the East and West Coasts and if the issue that you're really dealing with is anti-Asian immigrant prejudices, between the two, you might find the West Coast a little more welcoming.

Although it's my own personal observation and experience, from living on both sides of the US, I found there to be a little less anti-immigrant sentiment on the West Coast. People on the West Coast seemed to me to be more comfortable with minorities and immigrants.

    yourname2000 saidVancouver.

    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Vancouver
    2006 Census: 47% white, 29% Chinese, 16% other Asian/south Asians.

There are a lot of hot Asian guys here. And a lot of interracial relationships. Still lots of guys who find other guys their same race sexier, but I think bigotry is pretty rare these days.

Depends on how you define bigotry. Overt racism is rare, but subtle, aversive racism is basically an everyday occurrence.

    It's hard to quantify, though.
