I was home with the extended, and quite traditional, family this week.

My 5 year old nephew stops dinner and asks me, "Do you and Uncle Jack live together?"

    I say yes.

    "Will you stay together forever?"

    "Yes"

He thinks...and then says, "Two boys living together is good...because it must be a lot less work."

These little Christmas moments give me hope.

Anyone else had a glimmer of hope this week?

That's fantastic. The more the younger generations see same sex couples as just as normal as hetero couples the better the future looks for us gays.

My grand nephews, ages three and seven, interact with my BF and I as they would with any other family member. The only comment the older one made to my BF after hearing him speaking Spanish to his mother back home in Venezuela was, "I sure don't understand your language!"

My little nephew - age four - is getting a tour of our house with his parents. When we came to my bedroom he looked around and said, "If this is your bedroom, how come you don't have any toys?"

How could he have know our 'toys' were hidden under the bed and in the drawers?

I think it helped that Jack was also, like, the best Jedi light-sabre fighter EVER
