    Hi guys,

Does anyone have any experience of the MA Classics course at Columbia? I did a BA in Classics and Ancient History in the UK, and after a spell working in finance am thinking about going back to university, preferably in the USA. Has anyone done this course, or know any other good places to do a similar degree?

    Thanks

Just wondering, what are you planning to so with a master's degree in classics? Do/did you not like working in finance?

That's a good question! Haven't really thought that far ahead. I like my job, but would like to do something a bit more thought - provoking. I'll probably come to my senses and realise I'm committing career / financial suicide before I submit the application.

Might as well submit the application if you have it ready! You can think about it more seriously once you have the option of going. I don't kNow about the UK, but the job market in the humanities is not great right now.

Not many job opportunities in this field in the UK either, dude. I think most people in this area are working as school teachers until more teaching posts at Universities come up, though that will be a long way off.
