    well hi.

since i have a lot of free time this holiday season, it got me to thinking that if all my plans worked out, i may see myself migrating to a country of my desire 5-10 years from now.

only problem is, its such a big decision to make and/so its hard to pick one.

    well my criteria would be

    1. no socio-political/war drama
    2. has a clean tap water(im cheap, i dont pay for something i can get for free lol) reading the "do you drink tap water" thread here
give me the importance of clean tap water(sorry mexico you are out, not that i'm a loss lol)
    3. not 3rd world(i've lived in one for 23 years now, think i filled my quota), not that im bashing(i love my country and its beaches but you know.
    ..

Well my top 5 picks would be(in order)

    1. New Zealand - oh those dairy commercials when i was a kid about cows and windmills(so peaceful) makes this country on the top of my list.
    2. UAE(Dubai) - i've always wanted to have a relationship with an arab and this is the only safe and gay-friendly place in the middle east.
    3. Brazil - of all the south american countries, i think brazil is the coolest.
    4. Holland(or any east european country) - its safe, it snows, people are not into show business, gossips and those nonsense.
    5. Spain - it would be nice to live here and learn things about my country's invader for 300years(and maybe pulling some revenge by secretly murderi nah jk jk)

Special mention goes to Japan and south africa.

And there it is. I hope people who've read this may want to participate and suggest a place that they want to stay(for good or for leisure). Thanks

Be sure to research the country's laws on homosexuality before moving there. You've already listed two countries that don't allow it, and punish it with fines and imprisonment.

Some place where it's not difficult to gain citizenship shall you desire it. I think that's hard to do in Japan unless you have Japanese parents. Also, you would have to be fluent in the language or else finding a good paying job would be next to impossible.

Spain is a nice country. Sadly crisis has ruined it. But its beautiful from North to South. Also its a very homosexual friendly country. May be you should wait few years. Things may improve. Do you guys have some relaxation in visa criteria etc if you want to come to Spain? I am not sure.

Moving to any place for like USA/Spain (anywhere in EU)/New Zealand etc will be a hurdle unless you move to these places as student and they try to stay there.

The Netherlands (in Western Europe) is a great place to live, most people speak english and society is very equal. So keep that on your list icon_biggrin.gif
