I am visiting Sydney with a few of my straight buddies right this week. I am looking for a few recommendations for good gay bars/clubs. I tend to like more active places. Does anyone have any suggestions for a guy who is flying solo in Sydney for the next few days?

    Cheeky pup!

OP- Bring money as Australia, especially Sydney, is very expensive - you will be shocked.

    Gay clubs or bars..

Does anyone go to them anymore?

Do the usual stuff - Manly ferry etc..

Blue Mountains hiking, Royal National Park etc..

You're going to be with "straight buddies" yet you're "flying solo"?

Does this mean that you're abandoning your friends while you're in Sydney?

Guess you couldn't rent a costume to fit in?

For the OP the famous headline "Headless Man Found In Topless Bsr"

I'd hit up Midnight Shift, Arq and Possibly Palms if you're a fan of 80s music.

The average Stonewall patron age is probably 19 - so may not be your scene.

Shift and Arq have a good mix of guys from 20s through to 50s, most guys look like they look after themselves and the music is generally pretty good.

They're all in Darlinghurst, a 10 minute walk from the City Centre, along Oxford Street.

All were already mentioned, and within walking distance from each other. I also want to mention Beresford Hotel (on Bourke St. off of Oxford) on Sundays tend to be really fun and classy.

Imperial Hotel is also a good mention as they do drag and other themed nights

Yeah, I plan to separate from my friends for a few hours.

Thanks for the recommendations. This has been a great trip so far and I want to check out the scene for myself once.

If you don't have much time, you might venture into
357 Sydney City Steam, 357 Sussex Street or
    Bodyline, 10 Taylor Street Darlinghurst

What bar in Sydney should I go to that's not wholly an all-night dance club?

I am looking for a place where you might be able to pick up a game of pool with the locals, or shoot some darts. Where there's music in the background, maybe the occasional karaoke or drag night.

And by the way, what time is last call in Australia?
