    Kurosawa (Japan)- Ran and Rashomon are my two favourite pre-blockbuster era Japanese films

    ANYTHING from Francois Truffaut (France)- I loved his short Les Mistons and 400 Blows

    Also, Lars von Trier (Denmark)- I'm a sucker for art that disturbs you in some sort of way, and he always doesicon_razz.gif

    Though his films are very much Hollywood, Guillermo del Toro has such a knack for storytelling and I gotta say I am PUMPED UP for Pacific Rim coming this summer!
