It can hurt, but how much will depend on how sensitive your nipples are.

Many guys lose sensitivity in their nipples, others become more sensitive due to the piercing.

I've had both of mine done, over the years, and my nipples became less sensitive...

One piercing migrated out due to the piercing being too shallow, the other got caught on a wire coat hanger as I was putting away a shirt and is now crooked..

They can be great, they can also be high maintenance if you're unlucky.

I've had mine bitten and pulled to the point they bleed, some guys don't know when to stop.

Had mine done (1), no problems and enjoy it very much. Hurts for a split second then a little sensitive for a couple weeks. They tell you not to put polysporin on it but I found it helped a lot.

Applying Emu oil daily until it heals is supposed to be great for a healthy and possibly quicker healing process.

I had mine done this past summer on a whim, and no regrets. Just refrain from touching them with dirty hands, or other people's dirty hands. Also, the pain is pretty intense, but it helped that I've had tattoos in the past to prep myself for impending pain for the sake of vanity! If you've not had any tattoo work or piercings in the past, it might be a little much to take!

Ahaha, I actually have my left one pierced. I would say its better than going on a roller coaster. I only say that because I actually went on roller coasters the day before my piercing LOL

Yeah as GAMRican mentioned, my nipple piercing has been pretty high maintenanced because of the times you can get reckless taking off clothes and it might get caught on a loose thread or something.

So because of various accidents here and there, it can get infected from time to time.

BF did it on his 30th birthday. They went too deep. It got infected, and never properly healed. He took it out a year or two later, but that nip has never been the same. Too sensitive to touch.

Just so you know, nipple rings are a huge turn off for many guys (including myself). Especially lately, I've heard a lot of negative comments about guys with nipple rings. They don't gross me out personally, but they do some guys. To me, they just look so damn gay and scream "please notice me". Not to mention they're so 1995.

I'd always wanted mine pierced. Finally at age 50 (18 months ago) I did both.

It hurt like hell for about 2 seconds then there was no pain after that. It was sensitive and you have to be careful with them until they are healed. Don't let anyone get too rough with them, keep them cleaned and keep emu oil on them. When I had mine done, they recommended using a very mild soap and never alcohol. Since I make my own soap, I asked about lye soap. They told me that was about as good a soap as I could used, since it's mild.

Since mine were done, my nipples have become much much more sensitive.

I had my left one pierced for about six months, until I finally gave up trying to heal it because the stupid thing kept getting infected.

Then a couple years after that I decided to give it another try. These healed up a bit better, but not completely, and also got infected.

I was OCD about keeping these things clean... washed the outside with antibacterial soap twice a day, and followed that up with saline soaks.

After getting an industrial in my ear (bar that goes through two piercings in your cartilage) and that also not healing properly and getting infected, I did some research.

Turns out I have a nickel allergy, and my body was reacting to small amounts of it in the stainless steel they use in jewelry.

I'd make sure you don't have anything similar going on.

It's making me physically uncomfortable thinking about this but I wanted to say..

A friend had one put in and it made his nipple look kind of mutilated. Was always pretty off-putting when I saw it. icon_surprised.gif

Had one done years ago. I liked it, but so many guys were afraid they'd hurt me if they touched it. (I replied, "Only if you're doing it right.") It was just like a slight burn feeling when I had it done, but it does take several months to close. After a few years I took it out. It seems very 90's now.

Do what I did and pierce your penis instead. You cant sit for a week or two but it makes you look like a hard ass.

. . . oh wait I never did that. It hurts I've heard; my sister worked at a tattoo/piercing parlor.

This is a really naive question, but if a grown man has nipple piercings are the odds in favor of him being gay? Or is that as much of an indicator as pierced ears these days.

My best friend has both nipples done, and his ear. He's very straight.

My left nipple is pierced. It was originally pierced with a very narrow, 14 gauge barbell. It hurt like hell for two seconds and then it was over.

Having said that..the pain from the initial piercing was nowhere's near as painful as the pain from upsizing. Every 6 months I have enlarged the hole, so that I now have a 6 gauge door-knocker. They expand the hole by putting a conical "needle" through the hole until it stops at the fat end. Then they slam it through.

I yell a shitload of obscenities when they do it. And it hurts for more like 5-10 seconds.

So, I;d go for it...but put some thought into how big a hole, and how big a gauge piece of hardware you want.

I'm going up ONE more size - 4g - so I can put a nautical Bow Shackle through my nipple. Then I'm done.

Well I had boh of mine pierced back in 2008 two weeks before I deployed to Iraq. BIG MISTAKE!!! Needless to say all the dirt, dust and filth really didn't help me in the sanitary department so I was constantly washing them with antibacterial soap and using the ointment to keep it moist and help with the healing. However, four months into it I had to take them out because I woke up one morning and the hoop was flipped upside down. So that being said, if you do get it, get the straight bar.
