    "Klaatu Barada Nikto"

Naw man , the reason Sam Raimi wanted this remade was to go back into its general horrific/scary direction, which was intended w/ the original. The sequel, which too, was a retelling of the 1st one but comically was w/ all the humor, & said same for the sequel Army Of Darkness.

So glad they are going back to trying to be serious/scary/thrilling/grotesque direction..... Too much comedy horror these days!

When we still had VHS, i took all three Evil Dead series and recorded them back to back for one long Evil Dead movie, if you remember, II starts off where I left off and Army of Darkness begins where II left off, all three had the '72 Oldsmobile, I even once had the entire script to Army of Darkness

Part of the cult following is the humor, memborable lines, no CGI, the trilogy story of Ash and silly make up, i will see the remake but like many others, im not going to hold a candle to it, although Bruce Cambell is giving it his blessing

Well the beginning of 2 actually was a quick remake of 1 , then it picked up on same typeshotas the end of the 1st one & then did its own thing. Part 2 was essentially a re-telling of 1. & yea AoD was part 2's sequel.

All 3 on one vhs? Badass!!!

But again part 1 didnt really have much humor,no memorable catchy dialogue "Ash" wasnt a established hero character, & it was gross/scary. All that began in part 2 which is night & day different than 2 & AoD. So the remake is going back to originals' direction.

Plus theres no Ash in this.

But i agree, I'm a old-school horror guy, pre-cgi era. You're right most remakes cant hold a candle to original (cough ciugh, Nightmare On Elm Street remake, cough cough), however this is something that is worth looking forward.

Wow this remake looks hardcore ! I see they are playing it much straighter than the original Sam Raimi films which is interesting. The gore factor is upped waaaay more though, some really shocking stuff in that trailer. If this gets through uncut with an R rating I'll be surprised.

    Anyway it looks awesome !

Yeah, i understand why Sam Raimi wanted to redo it, i read about it and yes the first one was more gross/scary than comical, what? no Ash? dam, we dont know then who the main character is?

Like i told another guy on here, if you like this comedy gross horror, try Peter Jackson's Dead Alive, the lawnmower scene is the bloodest i have ever seen in a movie, ever, the actors were soking wet icon_lol.gif
