Try the midtown scene! There are plenty of bars, restaurants, coffee shops, etc where you can meet people.

Agreed! I think it's one of the hardest cities to make gay friends! The city has tons of beautiful guys; unfortunately, it also has a lot of attitude! I know you can find attitude in just about any city but it seemed abundant in Atlanta. That was enough for me to turn down a job there.

But to the OP, best wishes and hope your experience is much better than some of our's.

not all but a large percentage of the gay population I have found to be really cruel, if not on the more attitude and shallow end. That being said there are still a great abundance of heart warming people whom will put a smile on your face.

It is a city coined, "melting pot' and with that in mind there is lots of cultural attitudes going on.

That being said I'll hang out with ya! Downtown is great place to grab a bite, but I much prefer the little area near the zoo. Beautiful small shops, and great coffee and food haha.

Atlanta is a place you will come to love and hate xD

I like Atlanta b/c there are TWO korea towns. TWO! Who cares about the gays. You have one in Duluth and another in Swanee, and they have the best korean good I've had in the entire US.

OMG. There's only 2 restaurants in Cincinnati that have decent korean food. I'm always having dinner parties to show people what real korean food tastes like. But it's a lot of work to make! When I lived in Boston, I had SO many asian friends. Here, just a few.

I find boston to have an abundance of Japanese people. I'm quite fond of them.

There are so many Korean BBQ places around metro ATL. It's a slice of heaven.

I lived OTP for 20 years. I didn't realize how unfamiliar I was with Atlanta till I went home for Christmas and went downtown with some friends.
    Enjoy what I squandered

I lived in Atlanta for 6 years and although it is a great city in the South, I kind of outgrew it and wanted bigger so I moved to NYC!

However, Atlanta has some of the BEST food and the nicest, fiercest people. Burkharts is my favorite gay bar, and I used to frequent Joe's on Juniper as well. Good times!

I once won a call-in radio contest acronym competition for this:

    All the
    Traffic of
    Los
    Angeles
    Near
    The
    Appalachians

And then I moved back. Atlanta is a nice way to spend a week or waste a life. I lived at 9th and Argonne in Midtown for almost a year, and I couldn't wait to get away from those vicious, oppressed people.
