Cleanse / Detox

    First off I wanted to say hello, I'm new and just made my profile yesterday. I've been visiting this site for a little while for the health forums and workout programs so I decided it may be time to make a profile!

    Secondly, my friend and I are planning on getting healthy and back in shape after a rough fall semester. She wants to do a cleanse or a detox first before we start our new workout routines. I've done some research on cleanses but most of the information I found is contradicting. Have you guys done a cleanse or detox? Do you recommend it or should we not bother with it?

    A 7 day detox from GNC is good. I also did a 2 day Juice Cleanse. Both had their benifits. The Juice cleanse I saw results better and have lasted longer.

    Hello,

    I am also interested in a "cleanse/detox" before taking on a new routine and diet. What did you do for the two day juice?

    The body has it's own detoxifying system - the liver, all you need to do is eat healthy balanced diet with 2 fruit, 5+ vegetables, ~2 dairy, 3-5 serves wholegrains and 1-2 serves of lean protein/alternatives everyday.

    Limit processed foods, caffeine, alcohol and added sugar in drinks or food.

    Also important to sleep as your body repairs itself whilst it sleeps. 8 hours a night at least. Stress management is important as well
