WHAT IF . . .

What if John McCain were a former president of the Harvard Law Review?

What if Barack Obama finished fifth from the bottom of his graduating class?

What if McCain were still married to the first woman he said "I do" to?

What if Obama were the candidate who left his first wife after she no longer measured up to his standards?

What if Michelle Obama were a wife who not only became addicted to pain killers, but acquired them illegally through her charitable organization?

What if Cindy McCain graduated from Harvard?

What if Obama were a member of the "Keating 5"?

What if McCain were a charismatic, eloquent speaker?

If these questions reflected reality, do you really believe the election numbers would be as close as they are? This is what racism does. It covers up, rationalizes and minimizes positive qualities in one candidate and emphasizes negative qualities in another when there is a color difference.

All seriousness aside, I only have some of the answers:

ooseesf saidWhat if John McCain were a former president of the Harvard Law Review?
He could not have been so buddy buddy with the constitution defying president.

What if Barack Obama finished fifth from the bottom of his graduating class?
Not able to find a job as a civil rights attorney he would have had to become temperamental politician straight out of school.

What if McCain were still married to the first woman he said "I do" to?
He could really mean it when he said he believes in the sanctity of marriage.

What if Obama were the candidate who left his first wife after she no longer measured up to his standards?
He could be just one of the other washington boys

What if Michelle Obama were a wife who not only became addicted to pain killers, but acquired them illegally through her charitable organization?
I am not sure, but rich people go to betty ford clinic to get "help" .. everyone else goes to jail.

What if Cindy McCain graduated from Harvard?
She would have been smarter than to think being able to see russia from Alaska is foreign policy experience.

What if Obama were a member of the "Keating 5"?

What if McCain were a charismatic, eloquent speaker?
He certainly would not be george bush.

That is type of bullshit which affects does not affect my estimation of the candidates. Who cares about the candidates wives?

John McCain seems to be a pragmatist with a very crude and rude personality. Since he does not have principles I don't know where he would go.

Barak Obama is not stupid but he is a committed socialist and there is still a large part of the electorate that is unwilling to put the country on the fast track to mediocrity or worse. The fact he de-emphasizes his radical left connections like his association with Mr. Ayers, his reverend, or his communist family suggests he has beliefs he knows that would be undesirable to a larger audience.

No one with experience cares too much how well a politician speechifies. A good delivery of speeches is just theatrics and not relevant to good governing. Thomas Jefferson was not a great speaker and did not personally deliver the annual address to the congress, but Jefferson was capable leader and a good president.

Obama always makes me think of Gorgias from the Platonic dialogue of the same name. He uses well crafted rhetoric to persuade rather than assist in search for truth.

That's a low blow to call people racist because they oppose Obama. I don't vote for Democrats, any of the treasonous commie bastards.

If Colin Powell were running on the Republican ticket, I'd vote for him. If Condi Rice was running, I'd vote for her.

I do know some staunch super union Democrats who won't vote for Obama though, because he's black. Go figure. I can't stand unions either.

People aren't called racist for not supporting Obama. People are called racist when an entire region of the country swaps political parties because they were told human rights apply to black people as well. You think the Southern states all of the sudden had an intellectual awakening, had their stupid cured, and registered Republican for no reason? In the course of one single generation we saw, oh lets pick Strom Thurmond, go Democrat => Dixiecrat (anti-civil rights Democrat) => Republican. Why?

You've actually had a few well reasoned opinions lately, Call me anti-American, unpatriotic, or communist to my face and you'll deal with a lot more than rhetoric. What you people need to learn is that this bullshit political brinkmanship is getting tired. People can differ on the right way to solve problems, still solve the fucking problem, and not accuse each other of being pedophiles in the process.

That's like saying "What if so and so stole EIGHT pencils from their office?"

    Who hasn't done this? Seriously.
