I'm a big fan of Trader Joe's, but I haven't been in there as frequently since they stopped selling the marinated ahi tuna steaks. I could eat those several times a week and now they don't sell them anymore. I'm still having withdrawals and holding a grudge. icon_cry.gif

    Complain, they'll bring it back.

I used to shop there a little, but I think they gave me the worst case of food poisoning I've ever had. They also stopped carrying some of the things I liked.

Good to know. I just assumed they discontinued the product.

Frozen mashed sweet potatoes whose only ingredient is sweet potatoes, 2-cup portions of heat-and-eat brown rice, their own brand of Ezekiel bread; It's like they know that bodybuilders shop there. I am a huge fan.

I love TJs. Except: 1) much of the stuff they have there, particularly produce, is way over packaged, 2) the meat tends to be at close to the pull date, 3) same w/their dairy sometimes, 4) can't go to 2 stores in the same town (PDX )and find the same thing icon_sad.gif OK, Portland/Vancouver is getting to the northern most distribution points (they are in Oly. and SEA too) of their retail empire but still it's pretty consistent to have the same "complaints" with these PNW TJ stores. I have politely submitted these criticisms several times to the stores themselves and the home office.

To the OP, you might consider doubling up those bags and reusing them until they are tattered and at risk of failure. Once they are dead then buy a couple cloth bags (TJs sells them), keep them in your car, remember to bring them inside w/you and take away the demand for making more bags and all the energy and resources that go into making them. My $0.02 anyway.

Mmmm! Trader Joe's. Now I have them in my backyard. When I lived in Honolulu, I used to fill a whole suitcase full of stuff to load my larder at home.

I believe that in San Francisco, they're planning on opening a new one...

...right next to Whole Wallet Foods!

They have a Syrah-soaked Toscano cheese. It's something like a Parmesan with a softer, more cheddar-like consistency. And of course, it's soaked in wine. BRILLIANT.

TV dinners are the highlight for me. Indian tv dinners...yum. Lamb Vindaloo and Paneer Saag. Mochi ice cream is also pretty bomb...green tea.

I really don't get the appeal of Trader Joe's. With a significantly better option like Wegmans (the king of grocery stores), I'd rather shop there where I can get better quality food, more options, top notch service, and better prices. Trader Joe's come across as inadequate in comparison.

Seriously though...if you have a chance to experience Wegmans, you really should. They win "Best Supermarket" by nearly every publication year after year.

they're the best... much better than Whole Paycheck...

The same owners as the discount grocers Aldi's which also has some good deals.

I love Trader Joe's! They have the best Challah bread. The only thing is that our local TJ's is really small and it's always very crowded. Great store, but it takes a lot of time and patience to shop there.

Wegmans is pretty good, not going to lie. I remember going there often when I lived in Pennsylvania for a while. But there's just something about the selection of Trader Joe's that appeals to me...icon_razz.gif

Based on these bags, I'd say you have an addiction problem and need to seek help! icon_smile.gif

I like Trader Hoes too! ;) Good stuff!
