What will I do with my life...

This could be like a whole gameshow. Will I:

    A) Be a stripper
    B) Marry a rich old pooter and sneak my way into his will
    C) Be homeless

Thanks for helping, cause I'm really not sure. Everything on the planet now requires a bachelor's degree. I called around for a few different standard "I failed out of college" jobs, but even the flight attendant agency said they don't really hire people without a 4 year degree anymore. THEY HAND YOU PEANUTS. THAT'S LITERALLY THE JOB DESCRIPTION. But of course, how could anyone do that without knowledge of Greek Mythology?

And for those that remember my college post a few months back, this can be a very morbid follow-up. I don't make enough money to survive. I can't find a way to make enough money to survive. So... do I try the whole crippling student debt route?

If nothing else, I hope this makes you glad you could make it through college. But if you're feeling generous, I could use advice..

if your attitude is all flight attendants do is handout peanuts, then you don't deserve to be hired for that job or any one that deals with people. also, considering you misused the word "literally," perhaps it's best for you to realize employers do not just see a degree as a passage of greek mythology but as a sign of having matured a bit in the world. i recommend a little growing up over, say, book smarts. go work at a mc donald's and learn some respect for hard work.

This (if you're really that much in need of cash pronto). And/or the stripper route (depending on your personal preference). At least until you get back to college/start your own business/find a secure conventional job that can provide you with a liveable income.

Heck: you could advertise dog walking/house sitting/baby sitting/cleaning services in your local classified ads too (or instead of the former route, if you decide it's not for you).

    Think outside of the box.

Pull out a pen and pad of paper. Brainstorm the fuck out of it.

Think through your plans step by step to it's reasonable outcome before you make your first move. Be smart.

Remember: these quick cash turnover ventures are a means to an end, so, make sure you keep your ultimate goal in sight, make sure they are realistically achievable, and get your arse back in college as soon as possible, or else risk falling in the self perpetuated trap of life's tragic cases.

    Bon chance! =]

Don't be afraid to put yourself in debt. Like you've pointed out, almost everything needs a degree now so you'd be doing yourself a favor in the end. Unless you have some mind blowing idea that'll bring in the bucks, I'd suggest taking the risk.

You get job training, a snap card, housing and utility assistance, and then you get a job while going to school part time. Just walk in and talk to the guys at JFS. You have to meet with them face to face. You would never be able to figure out their services on your own.

Well thanks for all the replies! I have a way to make money at the moment, I work at a clothing store, run my etsy shop, and assist art classes, but even that's not enough to get an apartment. I think I'm going to have to just accept imminent debt and go to school.

How can you still not afford an apartment? Perhaps you should consider reducing expenses, i.e. look for a cheaper apartment, maybe don't splurge on frivolities, find a roommate, or whatever you can think of to reduce your overhead.

Nothing wrong with being a stripper or an escort. I know a few of each, and pretty much the only word of advice there is don't put your money up your nose or between your toes. Otherwise, try boosting your hours at one or more of your jobs. Maybe look for ones that pay better, even if they aren't glamorous.

You might not want to go the crushing debt route. Especially if your eventual degree, assuming you graduate, will not allow you to pay the debt off. However, I read your other post about dropping out of college, and to be direct, I don't think you are mature enough to graduate.

^Maybe he lives in an expensive town?

But yeah, I'd watch you strip, op. I wouldn't throw money at you, because I'm as poor as Job, but I'd definitely watch you strip. Ohhhh yes.

Have you considered roommates? They make having an apartment much less expensive. Take in an RJer like calibro and learn how to earn half your income as arm candy.

Don't feel too bad. I can't get a decent paying job with a degree. If you don't have flawless experience or strong networking skills with an in into the company, good paying jobs are insanely hard to get.

Should just take all these great ideas, and find yourself a rich older male, roommate who lets you stay for free as long as your arm candy and occasionaly perform exotic dances for him in his expensive lounge parties jk.

Well the clothing store and art classes are minimum wage, and the my etsy shop doesn't get much business... And I'm already living with my dad and he makes me pay minimal rent, I don't buy anything fun or go out, I just pay for car, food, etc. I am having money left over to save but it isn't much, and I'm making about $500 a month, which is enough for rent and that's it.

And I couldn't actually be a stripper or escort lol. I'm too nervous having sex with a boyfriend that I've been seeing for less than a month, let alone strangers... guess it's back to that arm candy idea.
