  Douglas has done gay before. Remember his hilarious turn on Will & Grace, trying to hit on Will with a phony story about laptop theft? And then Will chasing him off by putting food in his own teeth, for which Douglas had a phobia?
  
  I wonder how convincing Douglas will be as the flamboyant Liberace? And was this always intended as a TV movie, or was HBO the default because it couldn't be made as a theatre release? HBO also did Angels in America (which won 11 Emmys), but I think that decision was based on maintaining its original stage length of 6 hours.

  With make up, careful lighting and camera angles and a personal trainer, Matt Damon temporarily looks MUCH better on screen than in real life.
