Have attended Gay Days events in the past and stayed non-host hotels. Planning to stay at an "official" hotel this year. I've only been to a couple of Circuit Parties in the past (including the last One mighty Party), but will definitely hit the pool parties and probably Rip Tide. Which is better, Gay Days (and the DoubleTree) or Wonder World (at Buena Vista Palace)?making plans now ask have to start hitting gym and start picking out all my swimwear!

The Doubletree is the better hotel property of the two.

Now is the time to plan for Gay Days 2013 as hotel space in Orlando will fill up fast--remember you are competing with all of those other "traditional" tourists here.

When I stayed at the official hotel, it was the Buena Vista Palace. This was a few years ago so things may have changed, but the Buena Vista pool parties seemed a bit more high energy and the Gay Days pool parties a bit more laid back.

The party at Typhoon Lagoon is great as long as the weather is nice.

Gays Days Orlando and Wonder World Orlando are not the same. Different promotions with different hotels & events.

Can't go wrong with either. Being at either host hotel gets you free entry to pools. Things might change for parking/entry fee was higher for Buena Vista when not staying at the hotel.

    Some photos to compare:

Never heard of this. I'm in FL now, so I'll have to look it up. Could I just stay with friends in Orlando and just travel to wherever this is if I decide to check it out?

Yes but you'll have to pay for parking/entry to hotel events.

    Absolutely!

There will be several Gay Days events in and around the Orlando area. Lots of people will drive over for a day, take in some of the action, then head home. Some will choose to spend a night or two at the Parliament House or other hotels in the area. Don't forget Gay Days at WDW either!

The Doubletree host hotel has 3 pool areas. The main pool area for the "hey, my abs are more chiseled than yours" guys, one pool area for the bears and one for the lesbians. It is a nice resort.. There is only one large hot tub, and it is usually taken over by the guys every night. Poolside or courtyard rooms in the main section and east side of the tower may be noisy (DJ plays until 2-3 AM), but hey, it's a party. Staying at the resort gets you into all day and evening pool parties. The price for a double room is the same whether you have 2 or 4 people. My partner and I usually stay in a room by ourselves, but reserve it for 4 so we have 2 extra pool passes to hand out each day to friends in the area.

No there is a gay test at the entrance. Your friends will have to brush up on hand gestures & some Will & Grace before attempting to pass the entrance test.

I have my room at the Doubletree from 5/30 through 6/3 and I am stoked!!! Cannot wait for all of the pool parties! My first dance CD was by John LePage (and he'll be there) and I am in love with DJ Grind!! Got most of my outfits! Just working on my pool side body now! Can't believe it's less than two months away!

Several years back I was afraid I'd get herpes from that filthy, filthy pool. Not that herpes is a bad thing, per se, but I'd rather earn my badges than to get them from a filth fest. Shit floating in it... people partying for hours and never once leaving despite drinking in the pool (so you know it's piss-central).

Prance around the pool, but take the tough-actin' Tinactin for that funk-fest! LOL.

I'll be there with my hot military friends and, uhhh, one of the Men of the Day. haha

I'm doing both, doubletree 28-31st and buena vista 31st-3rd
The problem is I'm not sure what to do 26th-28th? I reserved a room at Parliament but after reading tripadvisor reviews Im worred! What are most people doing in Orlando for Memorial day weekend?...besides going to Pensacola Beach?

I will definitely go to Gay Days again. Last year was perfect, and I had some fun icon_smile.gif. I just booked a hotel room at Allure Resort at http://orlando.hotelscheap.org/. I´m looking forward to June. Hope I see you there.
