What spyware does RJ put on your computer to know where you have been recently?

I'll wager that when most guys log onto RJ, they are not getting ads in the RJ ad spaces for toilets and plumbing fixtures - right?

I notice that the ads that flash on the screen after logging on to RJ today (even BEFORE logging in) were all for toilets and plumbing fixtures - Items that I was searching for online yesterday (without RJ running in the background). In the past, I have noticed that RJ ads featured other things I had been looking for online. So what kind of cookie or other device is on my computer that keeps track of what internet searches I have made, how do I find it(them), and how do remove it(them) and can they be prevented?

Where have you been the last five years? Amazon, Google, pretty much everyone you interact with sells information about you. They don't even need to use cookies any more. They just tag it to your IP address in big commercial databases. Cross-referenced with your credit card records, store loyalty cards, movie rental history, which news stories you've read this week, and probably your dental records. It doesn't have anything to do with RJ. The ad-servers guess who you are and offer you to the highest bidder, all in a few milliseconds. Could be embarrassing if you share the computer with someone...

P.S. If you think it's cookies, just clear them. Probably ought to clean up all that stuff every week or so anyway.

Adblock works wonders. Try it. No ads. Period.

Adblock will stop a good number of ads showing up in your browser, but if you use a Browser collection stopper program, the companies never get your info in the first place.....
I have this one and it is a free download.
