    Hey everyone!!!
I moved to NYC a few months ago to start my masters/doctorate at NYU. I'm really happy about the move, but if there is one thing that really gets to me is the lack of friends I have made. I know it sounds silly, but I love being part of a group that has a strong friendship. I don't have much time to go to the clubs, so it's really hard for to meet guys. Anyway, I wanted to stop by and say hello and see if there were any other NYC peeps in here. I'd love to meet some of you and get to know you icon_smile.gif Anywho, lol silly i know.

Not in NYC but a big G'day to ya hope you find some friends I know your situation as moved cities and lost my support group and it hard to find new friends as adults seem to not want new friends if they have a social circle
    Once more good luck.

I envy you as NYC is this guy's favorite theme park!! Good luck to you in your studies.

I have seen forum posts here about an RJ NYC meetup every now and then. There is a way for you to meet others here and make some new buddies.

Also, I would individually seek out those on here that are in the city and introduce yourself. I have done that with some of the Orlando crew on here and it has worked well for me.

Also, welcome to RJ. Have fun!

Sort of...on the home page, upper left, you should see "Search For Guys." The third box down should be for one's home city.

Try to join couple meet-up groups in NYC. There are tons of tons meet-up groups about all different interests.

There are also lots of different meet-up groups for LGBT.

If you're living in one of the largest cities in the world and post an internet forum thread about how you don't have any friends, you're obviously stupider than the people you're trying to befriend.

That may not be the case, a lot of people who are intelligent have difficulty in making friends because of various reasons.

People in NYC are also rather cut throat, so I imagine that would be a factor too.

If he went to UCLA (Go Bruins!) and NYU then he probably is above average intelligence, those schools are not known for their lax admissions process.

Exactly why I didn't even bother responding. Besides the huge lack of disrespect, I didn't feel like I needed to validate my pretty WELL ROUNDED education with someone as rude as him lol. Never did I say I did not have any friends. I have plenty actually. All i was mentioning was how I'm trying to make new friends in NYC. Anyway, thank you euthymia for the post icon_smile.gif

Where do you go in NYC?

meetup.com has a 20 somethings gltb group that does things often and has weekly meetings.

We have similar interests..I I'm just a little introverted and my friends are kinda spread out, so I dont know many NYC gays icon_razz.gif You're welcome to meet and hang though.

The friends I do have are pretty much bar people. I like to dance... but they do not, so the places we normally go are pretty low key. (Pieces, Hardware, Industry)

Send me a message if you're interested... we should be doing something saturday icon_smile.gif

I guess the same goes for any other NYC rjers too icon_razz.gif

Hi! I moved to NYC 6 months ago and I'm in the same situation as you. Looking to make friends. I've made.. one good gay friend, so far. And I have many work acquaintances. Been trying to go to an RJ meetup, but it hasn't happened. Be on the lookout for another attempt at one of them. We're gonna finally get one going soon! hehehe.
