No, I'm not talking about a different body next to you than who was there the night before . . I mean your OWN body. ;)
That's how I felt this weekend. After a hard week of working out, yoga, rock climbing and lots of stretches, I noticed that my pecs were wider than the rest of my torso Saturday morning for the first time ever. I feel and look completely different now, and am very happy with the change!
Have any of you had that experience before, where it's as though a light comes on and you suddenly notice a change in your body composition?

I've never had that experience. When I was doing the 12 week Muscle Building program I looked at my before and after photos, no huge monumental changes, but enough to say 'wow, this program works'.
I'm happy for you to have had such an experience. It must be so thrilling and quite the motivation.

I've definitely seen the difference, but its usually just when I've eaten a lot the night before, and then in the morning my foods digested, and my stomach suddenly looks flat again. Sometimes I see slight changes a day or two after a work out... like recently I noticed that my back is starting to shape out into a v (saw it from the front).

I have seen changes from doing cardio exercise consistently. Seems to take effect after about a good month.
Sometimes I get amazing pumps that last for days which make me look bigger.

Yeah. One time I woke up and I was a bug. I wrote a book about it, but it was pretty boring.

Yes........it happened the other morning recently. I have been doing a whole new set of stomach exercises and core strenghtening. I did it for 4 days in a row. On the 5th morning, I woke up, and thought I had a stomach ache. But I looked in the mirror and VOILA.........I had a new midsection.
Before I had a six pack......now I REALLY have a six pack, going on an 8 pack! Tight....lean and very defined. I never had this before.
Keep up the good work man...........It DOES work....

My body seems to be VERY volatile in that way.
If I work out consistently (and push myself to failure, eat right) for just 2 or 3 days in a row, after a long night's sleep, (It always seems to be more noticeable the more I sleep...) I notice my abs poking through, my pecs especially change from day to day.
But it works both ways. One day of not eating well, coupled with a few days of laziness... and I have cookie nipples and my abs disappear from the bottom up.

I'm not sure if I have had this experience. If you are novice it i guess it might happen because if you have very little it doesn't take much to see a change. It is also a fact that after two weeks of weight lifting you will see significant changes in muscle tone. However, the more advanced you become the slower the changes and adaptations come. Hence the importance of consistency. One other factor to consider is how if you have taken a lay off then resume activity the shape you once had will come back much much quicker than it initially took to achieve it, so changes may appear to come overnight. This is accepted as the law of maintenance. Meaning that is easier and quicker to gain back what you had than it is to gain it in the first place. But if you don't have much to begin with changes will seem sudden.

I once woke up with my entire right arm numb. Totally insensate because I had squished it while tossing and turning in my sleep. It felt horribly horribly like a dead arm. I panicked and spent like 10 seconds shaking it frantically, imagining scenarios where they cut it off, and I can never draw again or use the mouse (I know, geeky huh?). When the pins and needles came back with vengeance it was like 'whew'. I still spent a good 10 minutes inspecting it for any sign of cyanosis. I know. Not related to the original topic. But what the heck, it's an old thread. XD More in accordance with the topic though, yes. I've experienced what I refer to as 'growing boobs'. LMAO. When I finally noticed that I'm getting pecs where before I only had ribs. Still a looong way to go though.
