This is supposed to be surprising?

I was wondering when this would be commercially available.

Keep all relevant info in one place. Maybe even a copy in a bank vault.

I just read about a 1TB thumb drive somewhere else. Would it be difficult for some devices to read?

For instance, the 64GB SD card for my camera won't work in my reader I have on USB. I have to plug it into my iMac directly. But I don't understand these technical issues, I guess it has to do with formatting or something.

As for computer memory, my iMac has 1TB HD for storage, with a 250GB SSD, where the applications reside. I wish I had 2TB, I'm acquiring lots of video.

My husband's new iMac that I just got him for Christmas is also 1TB but without SSD. SSD would have been special order, not a store item, and I wanted him to have it before Christmas. Fortunately his storage needs are not as great as mine, nor will he miss the speed of SSD.

I was hoping the 4th gen iPad would have gone to 128GB, instead of having just 64 again, and I've got barely 6GB free on mine right now. Which all goes to prove that for some of us, you can never have too much storage capacity.

SD (SDXC) Cards will reach 2TBs within a few years. and the theoretical capacity for an SD card is much higher than this, over 100 TB I believe.

This being said, I believe USB drives will go far beyond 1 TB as well.

I can't wait for years... I want it now... well, time to hook. Wish me luck. I need this to save all my filthy photos, so noone ruins my reputation.

As if I wouldn't get into porn or something anyways?:

Ohh, twice the price of an average maid. Night begins at 5pm, and ends at 5am. Naps between are permitted, but it's your money.

Yeah...I don't understand why you'd want a freakin huge flashdrive. You lose these things so easily. Imagine you filled one up and LOST IT. Thats a lot of shit you just lost. I'd prefer even smaller 8 GB flashdrives. Just so if I lose it, I don't lose EVERYTHING.

+1 I lose everything so I don't think I'd ever want one of these.

For now, this will mostly be useful for lab instruments. With multi-dimensional data acquisition (e.g. collecting a complete spectrum for each pixel in a large image), disk drives fill up fast. And you can't just shoot the dataset over your DSL link in any reasonable amount of time.
