New STD superbug, an antibiotic-resistant strain of gonorrhea, may be deadlier than AIDS

"Alan Christianson, a doctor of naturopathic medicine, thinks this new strain has the power to rack up more fatalities than AIDS. To date, more than the 30 million people have already died worldwide from AIDS-related complications.

"Getting gonorrhea from this strain might put someone into septic shock and death in a matter of days," said Christianson. "This is very dangerous."

Common STD Grows Resistant to Treatment in North America

"More than 321,000 cases of gonorrhea are reported each year in the U.S. alone—and the actual number of annual infections is probably much higher because many people do not experience symptoms"

"Its presence increases the odds of an infection with HIV"

That's scary! Which is why it's good to get checked frequently. Here in Sac there's clinics that offer free testing icon_smile.gif

at first it will be super resistant, then someone will buy it a few drinks....then the next day it will post on RJ about how it doesn't remember because it blacked out....but it woke up with a bottle of experimental antibiotics and no pants....

oh, those crazy STI... you leave em alone for a few minutes, and they just turn cray cray icon_eek.gif

Well, as an optimist, I see this as good news, because many of you Grindr and other knuckle dragging sex addicts might keep your incredibly tiny dicks in your girly panties for a few extra seconds and wonder to yourselves if this latest insecure sex hookup thing is actually worth it.

It's probably not THAT high, but any time you meet a guy who has a productive cough that sounds 1. deep and 2. produces odd colored mucus...consider that he might not have a cold or strep....

I imagine a lot of throat clap gets cleared up because doctors are so quick to write scripts for antibiotics for "strep" without even testing to see if people even have strep. Which may also promote antibiotic resistance.

This is where you're better to choose your partners carefully and in low numbers... because I won't lie, I never wear a rubber for that, and I consider myself pretty safe.

Back when i was 17/18, nope never even thought about using one. Then a buddy of mine was with a girl who ended up giving him something from oral. Changed my stance completely. Now If it's someone that i have only known for a short period of time, always. If it turns in to something more serious over time, trust the person, blah blah all that stuff, both get tested and no probably not use one. Oral with a condom? Obviously doesn't feel anywhere near as good, but with illnesses like the one described above surfacing can't be too careful.

Wow. Really? I'm surprised they go through with it. I wouldn't stick around to suck on a condom.

Same here! You must as well put a condom at the end of a broomstick and suck on it.

If I never got another blowjob for the rest of my life I probably wouldn't care. I've never enjoyed them and always hate that part of a hookup anyways. Sometimes I stop the guy from going down there because i'm like "hmm I could get chlamogonoherposyphilis from it and I don't even enjoy this activity." Many guys are on my "I made him go soft during oral" list.

Really? That much? Then I guess I'm in the lucky 10% (along with being in the gay 10% demographic), because my doctor doesn't think I have any STI. And I sucked countless dicks when I was single.

Not that it doesn't happen. But I did have the common sense to look at the condition of the groin and dick I was sucking first. And while disease isn't always apparent by sight (HIV or hepatitis for instance), you can certainly reduce your risk by looking for sores, warts and rashes.

But gonorrhea and chlamydia are often asymptomatic or at least have no external signs. There are plenty of "typhoid mary's" running around out there who don't believe that they're sick.

The only way to know for sure is to get tested, and AFAIK, there aren't a lot of free testing programs out there for these diseases. I did get called in once, by the health department, because one of my "manhunt friends" was positive. (They didn't say who... just contacted me through MH. Though it was pretty obvious. I wasn't having a particularly slutty year.)

MuchMoreThanMuscle saidNo one here mentioned what this will be like for the heterosexual community. I'm frightened to think of how this will affect copulation and gestation. This could prove very grave for children born to mothers with incurable infections. Granted, a Cesarean section will probably be the mandatory method of giving birth. But I'd imagine that carry a child to term while having an incurable bacterial infection would also have some sort of serious consequence. This is terribly wretched.

Most of you whores only thought of your slut shaming other gay men. One track minded strumpets, you!
