When someone close to you said "gay people are disgusting" without knowing you are actually gay...

I heard this today and it really felt like this:

Haha you know it's funny I've heard STRAIGHT FEMALES tell me this a lot.

I would say: "You're a hypocrite. You get turned on when straight men act animalistic and disgusting in bed with you but when two men do it, suddenly we're perverted hedonistic devils."

Then some well meaning person will go "Leave gay people alone! They're the same as us, just what they do in bed is different."

And I think "Honey, no. That's the only place where we are all the same."

I know but it wasn't funny hearing it from my brother...
Well maybe a little bit when I think about it now, because there was an awkward silence for like 5 sec. before I changed the subject...

I'm sorry, my sister is mean to me about being gay. My mom also is bitchy about it.

It sucks. There really isn't THAT much of a difference between pussy and a dick to me, and I've been with both. Pleasure is pleasure... although I'm not bi.

Don't let yourself feel like a victim though sweetie. If somebody is mean to you you just go on and be mean to them right back. I usually start outwardly mocking heteronormative standards in real life, and it's liberating. Stand up for yourself and make them see the error of their ways. I have done this recently with many heterosexual people and I smile with delight at the guilt on their face.

This has happened to me before with a group of people. The guy thought I was cool and everyone else knew I was gay because I was hanging out with them all day. He then started telling a story and then said, "gay people are weird". I then said, "listen man I'm gay, Jason is gay too (he was the guy sitting next to me), and he's gay as well" (pointing to the guy across from me). He then apologized. I mean I really hated to have to put him on the spot but sometimes you just have to.

If I was alone with him I would have told him the same thing because I'm confident and I know who I am.

Haven't heard it yet but I do like Mortal Kombat. Kitana is my favorite character. She kicks ass!

Exactly if you act butthurt about it, it will just make them think that they are right. You have to fight back.

when somebody hurtfully makes fun of gays now I mock straight people right back. I don't take offense or give some politically correct gay rights speech. And trust me it actually works. It makes most people feel guilty and realize what they are doing is harmful.

I would honestly ask them why they felt that way. Then I would laugh at their answer and throw them off a cliff.

I mean, then I would laugh at their answer and walk away with a fierce strut and pose as I leave their sight.

That's terrible, happens to me all the time.
But if you would say you're one of them, I guess their angst towards gay would be lessened.
