I'm super into this stuff, so wondering if anybody else shares the interest, so I can get some recommendations.

Mix it with plum wine. It's a taste from out of this world!

For straight up shots, I like hot sake.

Plum wine is yummy, it's always been too sweet for me though, so I learned from a Japanese friend to mix it with Oolong tea.
Also if you heat up most sake, it actually takes out a lot of the flavor, there's a specific one which is mean to served hot, I forgot what it's called, I'll look it up. Also plum wine heated is quite declicious!

My favourite is the one that is served at 37 degrees. It's the body temperature so you feel only the taste in your mouth. No temperature feeling. It's very disturbing but quite funny.

Is that a specific brand that you do that with? Or can you do that with all of them?

I'm a huge fan of any premium cold sakes (especially flavored ones like a Fuji apple)

So do I. Go to Dapur on Federal in Fort Lauderdale, just north of where US 1 leaves Sunrise Blvd. Our friend Edi Dapur owns it, with a very eclectic pan-Asian cuisine.

He has a good selection of sake, the house sake being very mild & agreeable, naturally served warmed. I never go there without having some.

But I also had some Chinese friends in Fargo (I had a portrait painted by one of them, in my profile), who served a Chinese sake version that could peel paint. Great stuff, in many varieties.

I love sake! Everytime we go for sushi, we almost always have to do at least one sake-bomb drink.

For the flavored one it's served at Benihana's but the brand is called Hana

However I don't know all the best brand names that are out there. All I know is in tend to ask for the best premium sake if I go out to sushi or a fine Japanese dining establishment (not saying tht Benihana is cuz it isn't) lol

I love sake! Warm and straight up! I hardly ever drink it though..I believe the last time I had it was when I was taking shots with my mom at a Japanese restaurant.

Why thank you, sir. I do appreciate the link. I actually know a few names since I've been collecting them from friends in Japan, if anybody cares to know a few, I can spread those around, too. haha
