It's remarkable there remain those who seem to believe that (a) social security is self funded, and (b) that it is some entitlement as if what they paid in is anything related to what they get back.

Neither of these "facts" are true - but they're used out of greed or willful ignorance to bankrupt following generations:

"but they're used out of greed or willful ignorance to bankrupt following generations"

Bullshit. You think a bunch of older people have been sitting around trying to bankrupt future generations?

Basically what you'd like to do since you refuse to understand the math - or lack thereof behind the logic of social security basically everywhere - given that it's unfunded.

People don't want to hear it. There's a mass mental block that induces instant hysteria whenever anyone even suggests a problem with Social Security. You'd think it was God Himself.

I understand the math all right. However I make it a habit of talking mainly about Canada as you and I are both Canadian. icon_lol.gif

You mainly talk about Canada? Bullshit. You don't think that people can just look through your previous posts and see how ridiculous that statement is? Even if someone were to naively take your word for this on this point, you've applied the same logic liberals have there on the CPP and the OAS - which are ponzi schemes.

You know, if you live in America and are over 65, you could actually return your social security. You do not have to accept it. That's true. There is no law that forces you to take it. So, if you are convinced that you elderly people are bankrupting the future generations, return those checks today.

Ah so you think that social security then as it stands is sustainable and appropriately funded?
