And it was bound to happen:
    http://www.abc27.com/story/20527287/pa-lawmaker-wants-teachers-to-carry-gunsHARRISBURG, Pa. (WHTM) -

If Pennsylvania Representative Greg Lucas has his way, teachers would be allowed to carry guns on school property.

Lucas said he plans to introduce a bill, called "School Personnel Right to Carry Act," that would allow teachers, administrators, and other school personal to carry a firearm.

Staffers would have to go through background checks and firearms training, including some of the same training law enforcement officers undergo.

Lucas (R-Erie/Crawford) is a former teacher and said he wanted to do something to make Pennsylvania schools safer. The firearms instructor called schools without armed personal vulnerable.

"I think they are basically sitting ducks," Lucas said.

It's something he would like to see passed by June. So far, the bill has several co-sponsors.

The way Lucas envisions it, highly-trained teachers would be allowed to carry guns that would be locked in safes. Those safes, Lucas said, would open only with the owner's fingerprint.

Lucas said he supports having armed officers in schools, but believes that would be too expensive.

This is total idiocy. I wouldn't doubt if this lawmaker is a right wing republican. What an idiot. He should be removed from office along with Pennsylvania's governor.

This makes complete sense, but it must be taken further, much much further.
I want my postal carrier to have a gun, just in case.
I would also appreciate it if my grocery store clerk was carrying, because people always seem to get angry when checking for non-bruised bananas.
Of course it goes without saying that everyone working at malls, Best Buy and any Starbucks should carry a handgun, especially on days when women are looking for sales.
I would make is a law that used car salesman must carry powerful weapons, most for self-defense but also as a way to close more deals (an economy boost if I ever heard of one).
And since the NRA has seen fit to provide 4 year olds with an app that teaches them all about gun safety, why not arm them too? If everyone from babies to the senile is all of a sudden carrying, we will most certainly see these random mass shootings become a thing of the past.

Schools need armed guards, period. If we can find money in our budget to send overseas to people who hate us we should be able to protect our own children.
