Protein Powder in Meals?

    Can you cook with Protein powder? For example, can you mix it in with the milk and put it in oatmeal porridge? Or does it affect the absorption/efficiency of the protein?

    If it is possible, any other tips for cooking with Protein Powder as a means of keeping up the protein intake?

    Good question, from the instructions on the package it appears my powder mixes best with cold liquid so I think if you prepare it separately before mixing it into the porridge you should be fine I'll give it try tomorrow and let you know what I think of it

    I've noticed when I use protein powder in recipes the ingredients you mix into it need to be cold or the protein powder will become gritty..Sometimes texture is off putting...I often make protein bars but I mix them up cold and keep said bars in the refrig.

    I thought about putting cookie dough flavored protein powder in real cookie dough.

    I don't see why not. I used to put a scoop of my vanilla flavored protein powder on my breakfast cereal every morning.

    Putting protein powders in a hot liquid will denature the protein and give an awful texture like under cooked scrambled eggs.

    Yeah my experient didn't go too well... the damn thing curled alittle bit but still tasted like strawberry a better way to get additional protein would be to add a nut mix to your porridge
