Last night my mate wanted me to go and see The Texas Chainsaw Massacre in 3D at the cinema with him, bit too graphic I thought... Why do these people always run out petrol, split up or and go in houses in these films.

I went to pub instead lol, what do you think of horror films?? icon_confused.gif

I'm pretty crazy about a lot of them! The main direction I see many fall into now though are built around horrible actors, scripts, and thrive on shock/gore to sell the movie. That's not a true horror movie to me.

A true horror movie is a movie is a movie that keeps you on the edge the whole time. I think Paranormal Activity had the atmosphere right. The whole audience is constantly anticipating something to happen at any moment. A true horror will linger in your mind days after the film is over.

So yeah, maybe I just like psychological horror and movies with good stories tied to it, but straight up gorefests I can't stomach anymore. I'm getting too old for that.

Love horror movies. Huge fan of series-type like Scream and Friday the 13th. Also love indie horrors like Eden Lake and The Loved Ones. Dawn of the Dead, Cabin Fever, Cabin in the Woods, The Strangers. Game based horror films are awesome too, like Silent Hill and Silent Hill 2. Also can't forget some of the older classics like Empire of Ants.

Can't wait for the Evil Dead remake.

Just talkin' about horror movies makes me wanna watch one..hmm

Horror is my favourite genre, I especially enjoy ones with tongue in cheek humour. Has anyone else seen ZMD (Zombies of Mass Destruction,) it's hilarious and features a gay couple.

All of these questions were answered in Cabin In The Woods. These deaths save us all.

I like the zombie movies. But the ones where there's ONE bad guy - those just give me anxiety. I know, I'm weak. But give me a romantic comedy any night.

Only ones I can't deal with is the grotesque genre, such as SAW, Hostel, etc.

I would jump at the chance to see it or any horror movie that looks good. People just tend to go without me.

If a plot is good enough I'll see it. Sadly most horror movies are lacking in this area.

Personally only like to watch horror movies when there is somebody to watch it with. And its especially fun if they are super jumpy whenever something happens!

I quite like 'em when they are cleverly done. Wolf Creek is just amazing and well recommended. Carrie (the original) and the Shining are just genius. One of my favourite pub arguments with a mate is deciding if Alien is a horror or sci-fi.

I love horror movies BUT I lean more toward psycological horror movies. Movies like Carrie, House of 1000 Corpses, The Skeleton Key, and so on.

I don't really care for slasher films as I can't stand some of the character types (the dumb ass, the screamer, etc) lol It just frustrates me haha.

But the last horror movie I saw was Cabin in the Woods. Off the hook and a bit too gory for my taste but it was alright haha. I really want to see Mama. icon_smile.gif

    The answer is "Yes".
