Are there any countries that grant citizenship through gay marriage?

It's a process. It usually starts with permanent residency after marriage in the country of the spouse, who must "sponsor" to kick-start the process. In Canada, for example, that period is 3 years after which the person may apply for citizenship.

Some countries that do not permit same-sex marriage do allow "civil unions" that grant the right to apply for permanent residency and eventually citizenship too.

As always, Wikipedia is your best friend:

I am originally from the Philippines and yes... gays are accepted but cannot be married ironically. It's been almost 3 years that I am working in the uae and to my surprise, no gays nor same gender marriage is allowed in here. Imagine the situation in which I cannot bloom for such a same sex marriage that is still an issue. I have a dream my life would be like that of a hetero relationship... be married and have a simple life with a husband... and now I am planning to settle in another country in which I could bloom for I am like a plant growing in adversity. So, after reviewing each countries I guess I need to work things out to settle in Canada. After finishing the long process of immigration which would take time, I am hoping this time, I would make a right choice. My dream is just simple... to settle in a place where gays are accepted and a better quality of life and be married if not in a church, at least in a state law. This must be a long journey for the reason to be accepted and married. icon_idea.gif

But wouldn't you rather marry someone who lived in a better place? icon_razz.gif

    Hey mates,

I am from the UK, and we have Civil Partnerships, to where same sex partners can sponsor the other for residency. After 3 years, you may apply for British Citizenship with right of abode...

    Cheers,

    Sean
