So I applied to do porn back in October and I finally got a response back from a certain company. I can't really say which one but it is one of the more "higher" up ones. It's based in California and now I have a big decision to make. Should I go through with it? I mean flights will clearly be paid for and I will make anywhere from 800 to 1500 dollars a scene. I'm just not sure if I want to go through with it and just wanted the opinion of people here. Including anyone who has maybe done porn in the past. Thanks guys!!

Are you gonna ruining your life? Some people regret doing them. Think before you do because you are young and good looking. Go to college

but on a serious note it might seem fun now or an easy way of making money but it'll be floating around on the internet forever and it might come back to haunt you in the future! so I'd think about it!

If you may have a career that may be affected by your history doing porn, then don't do it.

Obviously I've never done porn, but I know it is a very rough industry.

Good luck with whatever you choose. icon_biggrin.gif

$1,500 is not a lot of money. You could make just as much from working a few weeks at a McDonald's. And that doesn't involve a 5-way gang bang.....

Once it hits the Internet, it will live in perpetuity. Like a bad tattoo, is it something you are o.k. with your nieces and nephews watching? Are you that desperate for money? Do you ever want a professional job? Ever had a background check done? Is it something you want coming up as you try to build a career / relationship? Are you prepared to have it keep you from advancing in leadership later in life? If the answer is no to any of the above, then, you've answered your question.

As an adolescent / young man, the fast attention can seem like a win, but, it will live with you digitally until the end of time.

If you have any intentions of politics, leadership, or a really good professional job, at some point in your life, and, if you care about relatives / partners / friends find on you, well, there are better choices, right?

Okay, maybe I wasn't doing such a great job of discouraging it. But you get the drift. And nothing against porn stars at all. But it's not an easy life, and a lot of people don't realize that ahead of time.

But you said that $1500 is not a lot. So what's the going rate?

I mean, it's not a lot for what you're doing. Relatively speaking. I have no idea what the going rate is. But it's going to take a lot more than 1.5K for me to be having sex with some stranger on camera.

The OP just said porn. Don't people usually start out with a jerking off scene?

I see your point. Maybe $5,000 would be better. If this is a well known production company, then I would think they can pay a little more. Recession maybe?

I guess! Maybe some of them get an advance promotion from the start.

sounds like it's not worth it. you really have to make a name for yourself to actually start making any real money and that takes time and effort... just like any other job. from what I hear about porn, you get paid for your scene and that's it. you don't make a percentage of dvd sales or website membership fees. you will be paid for appearances and events I would imagine, but, again, that requires you to be an established performer to really make any money off that. sounds tough to me.

but regardless of what you want to do, you should be PASSIONATE about it. If you are not really into doing porn and just want something to do until you figure things out, I would suggest going to a temp agency. at least there you can try out different fields and you may just find an industry that suits you.

Dude, no offence, but you don't look like a porn star, I don't see it! It is not yours.

Plus, the paying isn't good either, If I'm told I'd be paid 1500 EGP for a scene in here, I'd be making noises and gestures!

    Just don't do it ;)

Not high end anyway, but the term porn star really only denotes someone who gets a camera pointed at them while they perform some sort of sexual act and where the footage will be put up for public consumption for a revenue stream, so you could pretty much just pick two bums off the street, strip the and make them 69 while being filmed and call them porn stars.
