Straight guys thinking you want to have sex with them....

This guy I know, he is an acquaintance, found out I was gay today. I have known him for about 3 months now. I was hanging out with him because he is friends with my one friend and my friend brought up my sexuality. He was like "Woah I didn't know you were gay!" And I said "I didn't know you were straight!" then he said "Well I am cool with you being gay as long as you don't make a pass at me or try to suck my cock." And it wasn't even jokingly he was serious. I said "I am cool with you being straight as long as you don't try to make a pass at my sister or any good friends. And don't worry about me trying anything with you, you're not my type at ALL." His face was priceless like a huge blow to his ego.

He later asked me, when my friend wasn't around, why I wasn't attracted to him. I told him "Just like you're not attracted to every girl you meet I am not attracted to every guy I meet." he said "Oh.....Makes sense." This is the second straight guy who thought just because I was gay I would automatically want to make out with them and suck them off. And both of these straight guys were not attractive physically, at least imo, at all.

Ever have a problem anything like this happen? It is kind of funny to see their reaction when you tell them you aren't into them.

It's usually the fugly guys who think you want to sex them up.

Its because, like every guy, gay men are very much attracted too looks, and most people have a desire to be desireable. So when faced with a gay men they have an innate desire to want to be attractive to this gay guy, but they dont want to be gay, hence the "Dont sleep with me bro!" that we see.

Either way, I have digressed a bit. They are just stupid, thats it.

And like someone else said, its ALWAYS the fugly ones, or the ones who I think "Who in the world would ever want to touch you?" that says shit like that.

I agree! Usually, good looking straight guys have more humility than the not so good looking ones. I think most average looking straight guys probably think they're Casanovas and everybody wants them.

OP - I agree that you handled your situation very well! I would have been more condescending and rude to your acquaintance, but you put him in his place in a tactful way. I wouldn't be surprised if sooner than later, he does ask you if you want to blow him because he's "curious." Definitely continue to say nope, still not your type.

I have not yet faced that with a straight guy. But I have had gay guys who I'm not attracted to think I'm attracted to them once they find out that I'm gay. And it is equally aggravating.

The annoying double standard of the straight world. Straight guys have been making unwanted advances against women since the dawn of time, but God forbid a gay guy finds them attractive, or they assume he does and the whole world falls apart.

Laughing generally helps. I remember one time someone suggested I found them attractive so I laughed, a lot, and he got the message. It's a tricky one though because it isn't just straight guys who think people fancy them - it's gay guys too.

It's as though you either have two options: 1. Be polite and friendly only to be accused of wanting to sleep with someone. 2. Be rude and get accused of being an arsehole.

    Such is life I guess.

It's because someone may think they're gay themselves and that is tanatmount to social suicide in the straight world.

When I came out to a good friend I've know for a long time, that is the first question he asked me, "Do you find me attractive?" I don't find him attractive and told him so. I think it might have been a detriment to his ego, but who cares?

The ignorance of some people is simply stunning...

That has happened before to me as well. I think it's fun seeing their ego deflate. These are usually the same guys who think every woman wants to sleep with them or if not she's a lesbian.

Although there was this one guy I worked with who was a Marine and his buddy was an ex con and they both had amazing bodies and they assumed I wanted them. I lied and said no but I wanted them SO bad.

    Hahaha, this.

Every time I end up alone with straight guys, they always bring the "Do you find me attractive", and then later the "Rate me from 1 to 10". So awkward.

    musicman91,

I am an official gay fairy dust sprinkler, you get your gay card.
    congratulations
I love what you said to that guy and you now have all the rights and privileges of being a sprinkler.
You must be quite butch to do this but given that you clearly have some balls I am not worried about you.
This responsibility was given to me many years ago by Roddy Roy and I take it very seriously. Have fun and spread love my brother.

I was actually discriminated once at a party. I never liked this guy before but for some reason we always ended up hanging out together because we had a lot of mutual friends.

They asked me at the party if I was gay and I said yes and this guy literally screamed "Ew! Stay away from me!", he is by far the ugliest guy you'll ever see (he's fat, he's stupid, he's short) and the only thing I said was "Dude, I have standards. I can get the girls you can't even if I'm gay. You wish I tried to hit on you" and I left the party, I was pretty sad for a couple of hours but then I remembered that stupid people are eveywhere.

Funny thing is that then he moved in to my house icon_evil.gif and he said "I'll always be covering my ass" haha he pretty much said that he would be the bottom. I just ignore him until he left.

What astonish me the most is that during High School I was never bullied and now that we're supposed to be more mature about everything I've encountered tons more intolerant people than I saw in High School and not just about homosexuality but also about other topics.

we just need to be the man that we want in our lives. Just be the man.
