    Amazing possibility. Thoughts?

The internet is buzzing today with the rumour that Barack Obama's gaffe-prone running mate Joe Biden will drop out of the race for health reasons - to be replaced by Hillary Clinton.

John McCain's selection of Sarah Palin as his running mate has created so much interest in the Republicans that Mr Obama will have to make a radical move to regain momentum, the argument goes.

Mrs Clinton could be just the key. Mr Biden, who had surgery in 1998 to repair two brain aneurysms, would drop out after the vice presidential debates due to be held on October 2, according to the claims - leaving the way open for the former First Lady.

While I think Hillary should have been the nominee (in general) and would have been a great VP, the situation is set. Biden is a great choice and what we need to do now is just vote.

Obama doesnt need to drop Biden now. Mcc is on the ropes. Dropping Biden only has risks associated with it. Only a bona fide, medically verifiable condition could justify dropping Biden.

It wouldn't surprise me one bit if this were to happen...especially if it happened really late in the game...like with only 2 or 3 weeks left in the campaign. If Obama pulls significantly ahead AFTER the debates, I doubt dumping Biden will happen, but if McCain begins to surge -- especially if Palin holds her own just fine against Biden in the V.P. debate -- I think there is a very good chance of this happening as Obama's last gasp effort to win this. Then again, the fact that he made the huge gaffe in the first place by not picking Clinton may have been the thing that could lose it for him in the end regardless of what happens.

This really seems to be unsubstantiated rumor. Come on! Biden was the one nominated and ratified. I don't know if a change could be made now.

And, at the moment, I don't think Obama needs Hillary. The Palin tide is quickly receding -- a poll released yesterday showed 49% of those polls said she was not qualified to be president. So, if she's rallied anyone, it's the conservatives who McCain absolutely needed to lock down.

Sure Biden has made a few gaffes. We expect them from him. But his gaffes aren't anything compared to what Palin has been saying.

I'd be VERY surprised if this happens. It really sounds like someone's speculation that someone else picked up and it snowballed from there.

That said, I wouldn't mind seeing Hillary debate Sarah Palin. She'd eat her up and spit her out. What's the term? "Field dressed?"

Actually, the Daily Mail meant to say that Obama was dropping Biden to pick Amy Winehouse who has been his and Michelle's lover ever since Angelina Jolie left Amy to be with Brad Pitt. Amy was asked to confirm the rumor, which has the Internets a buzz, and would only say, quite coyly, "I've gone back to black."

If Obama replaces Biden with Hillary Clinton, he will win. As much as I want to see McCain win, one has to face reality. If Obama does not replace Biden with Hillary, McCain will win in a landslide.

Then again, Obama's presidency will be plagued with Hillary, and Bill.

Can't rely on any poll in this thing. Although my favorite one was based on one interview from one conservative woman who has decided she will be voting Democrat this time. Based just on that one females interview the title of the article read... CONSERVATIVE WOMEN TURNING ON McCAIN AND PALIN. I had to laugh because to be fair it wouldn't take much to find a Liberal woman who will be voting Republican. I've met them. So this whole poll stuff remains questionable. The MSM tends to lean left so anything favorable towards the left "might" be considered just a little skewed.

I just can't see Obama taking in Clinton. They all had to know the backlash they'd get by not putting her on the ticket but went with it any way. The choice not to put her on that ticket did include personal reasons and I think it extends to his wife not wanting to share the spotlight. However, It would be a very interesting twist in this already very wild election if it did happen. I've gotten to the point where number one I'm ready to just vote and get all this nonsense over with so we can move on and the second part just includes general entertainment at what the latest bullshit alleged scandal is and reading all the he said she said slop.

I just watched an ad from some liberal group that ONLY talks about McCain's skin cancer, shows his scars up close and interviews cancer doctors talking about life expectancy.

Nothing about his politics. 100% about his cancer.

    Sad. Very sad.

Biden's brain surgery is just as stupid. It should not be an issue. That kind of talk is embarrasing, to be quite honest.

People that bring up Biden's brain surgery or McCain's skin cancer are beneath comtemp.

    Both sides should be shamed.

I can't imagine this would be the case.

I don't get my US news from a UK source.

Hillary will not be a VP anytime soon for the same reason she was not picked before. The Clinton's can not go through the vetting process because they would have to disclose all of their financials including Bill's sources of income and the money that went to Bill's library from questionable sources. She would not do it before and she will not do it now.

Plus, the Clinton's want nothing more than for Obama to lose so Hillary can run again in 2012. That is the goal. If not, that he has a bad 4 years so she can run on the, "SEE I TOLD YOU SO!" platform.

Both sides? How about just the people who came up with these ads?

Nice broad brush you're using there, lazy thinking GOPer.

Youtube link? Who sponsored this ad? Ultra conservative groups use similar tactics; they all hire the same marketing firms.

It was MSNBC. It aired about three times during "Hardball with Chris Mathews". It was repugnant and I am suprised they actual aired it. Are they that hard up for advertising dollars?

I sent an email of complaint to MSNBC. I would have done the same to Fox, ect.

Yeah, they all do it. Does not make it right, left or right. If that had been about Obama I would have been just as disgusted.

Look for it. It is about McCain's skin cancer. 100% Not a word about anything else.

Swiftboating was bad. This is worse.

It's a silly notion--Biden dropping off the ticket for Clinton.

I'm convinced the Republicans will say ANYTHING to suggest disarray on the Democratic side. This is just one more dumb thing they constantly bring up. No logic, no facts to support the assertion. Just throw slop out there and see what sticks.
