Has anybody here found a buddy through Craigslist's Strictly Platonic section? I'm actually thinking of making an ad for someone to watch the UFC fight tomorrow night, but I probably won't. It would be nice to watch the fights with somebody.

My friend down the street only likes WWE wrestling and he made things weird between us when he asked to give me a blow job lol.

I don't watch it much, but I'll watch it with you. I like wrestling a bit more, too.

OMG - I didn't even know this section existed prior to this thread.

Second thing I learned: there are straight dudes looking for other straight dudes as "cuddle buddies". WTF?

I read an article not too long ago about how some heterosexual men crave man-on-man affection, not sex, but because of the societal taboos on men showing their emotions or engaging in effeminate behaviors, they suppress their desires. Out of this group of men, several admitted to having sex with guys even though they were not sexually attracted to them just so they could get a little affection from other men.

They made a great point because if we look at women in our society, they are free to be affectionate with each other, and no one bats and eye, but the moment that men are affectionate with each other, people accuse them of being gay.

I'm gay, and I'm affectionate with my female friends, but that doesn't make me a closet hetero because I cuddle with a girl. Same applies with heterosexual guys. Just because they desire male affection, doesn't automatically make them gay or, even, bi-curious.

I don't trust Craigslist for anything, and certainly not a real friendship.

That is interesting. Not many male Americans fathers are affectionate with their boys once they aren't babies anymore and our society teaches us that it's weird or wrong for males to show each other affection so I can understand why straight men feel that way. Everybody wants affection no matter your age or sexual orientation in my opinion.
