I was talking to one of my friends and found out that he has a habit of looking at the men seeking men personals on craigslist. I dont know that he ever post but he does respond just to figure out who the guy posting is. Apparently he found a supposed str8 guy that was dating a girl friend of his on there once. Does anyone here actually post on there for hookups? Does anyone reply just to find out what the guy looks like?

The creepy possibilities associated with posting a personal ad on Craigslist are limitless. I say yes to both of your questions.

I am not sure I would be able to post on there without fear of STI's

No different from Grindr, Adam4Adam, Manhunt, yada yada. The risks will always be there.

Not into blind hookups ... and aren't people afraid of like bashers or serial killer? I guess I've grown to cautious in my many years of learning from experience ... some things you don't want to learn the hard way icon_neutral.gif

But I agree with everyone else. CL is kinda antiquated, and has been replaced with gay smartphone apps. Different platforms but same risks. Always be careful.

Uhh...that seems pretty sketchy. I feel like adam4adam has more class than getting a guy off craigslist. Remember fellas, you get what you pay for (or in this case, what you don't pay for)

Kind of agree, also there is more credibility (usually) with a smart phone. But it doesnt work with me bc I am a bad gay and like to have a drink with someone first.

Guess it is too much committment for the average gay man.

It really depends on what you're looking for. I've met some great guys on CL through the personals section that weren't on the bright and shiny gay sites. You don't have to do anything or even meet the guy until you're ready and you can definitely ask guys out on a date.

The smart phone does seem some bit more credible. Some of the things people post on craigslist is disturbing. After my friend mentioned looking at it I do now. Just for the humor of the comments. I have never responded thought to any and never tried to figure out who it was. I think it is a little to invasive to that person.

12 years ago; yeah, it was a great way to meet potential FB's.
Now, it's mostly closet cases, to scared to let their wife's find an app on their phone and cum whores.
Missed Connections; however, are always fun...I still post in that.

Yeah agreed. Closet cases run the risk of others finding their grindr and hornet apps on their smartphone so CL is fillllled with them.

I find that CL has also become inconvenient in the sense that many guys don't post face pics, and you cant just IM.

Craiglist... No, that was so 2005! Try other apps/sites!
