I thought the mother and the psychiatrist were played by the same act(or/ress). And really, a banana? Christ, I do that for health reasons.

I'm going to have to watch some good hardcore gay porn just to get the image of that woman out of my head.

I would kick somebody's ass if they did that shit to me, but I don't think it would be detrimental enough to ruin my life.

    Gentlemen -

    It is caled Rape.

He is a young kid. He was not a willing participant, he was violently sexually abused.

    Sorry - I don't see the humor.

That's horrible. Or was it intended to be a joke as in a "put on."

    It's a put on.

The "mother" practically laughed when she described what happened. And not that I'm going to try this myself (and I for you younger viewers, I don't suggest you do either), but, I don't think one could actually get a banana inside an anus. It would just squish all over the place.

I'm convinced it was a put on. There's nothing in the video that ties it to a newscast or anything like that.

I'm with ITJock on this one.
Certainly nothing humourous about the crime committed
    or the emotional repercussions.

Well, if it's not a put on, then, my general apology for being so flippant.

"Rape is a form of assault where one individual forces another to have sexual intercourse against that person’s will."

Nothing was mentioned about actual penetration. I had some pretty weird stuff done to me when I pledged a frat and somehow I survived!

swimbikerun: That's the definition of "Statutory Rape".

ANY sexual activity forced upon an individual against their will is also Rape.
The Latin root "Rapere" meant 'to grab or steal' then it came to mean 'carry off by force; abduct' and eventually took on its contemporary usage 'to sexually assault'.

You don't need penetration to have your dignity sexually assaulted.

Sorry you had to experience hazing yourself.

    Pax.

    If the story is true...

I think the worst thing a mother could do was to go on the news and talk about her kid getting teabagged!!! He's a kid, so there is not police report released to the media. What would the mother be thinking in this case, "Gee, little Tommy isn't who he use to be. I think his traumatic experience will have less impact on him if I tell the WHOLE DAMN PLANET!! That will help him. Not my caring embrase, not counceling, not police finding his accosters. No the best medicine for kids who are sexually assulted is obvious - MEDIA, MEDIA, MEDIA!!!"

If my kid was statutorily raped and suffering, I wouldn't put it out on the media with a shot of the kid!!!!
Plus there was not questioning of police about the case, any leads?? Does the kid accuse anyone??

It's either a disasterous family undergoing a disasterous event, reported on in a disasterous manner... or it's a put on.

Plus, banana? Please. My wife works the emergency room at a level 1 trauma center - it's always a vegetable and never a fruit.

OHiker: "...I think the worst thing a mother could do was to go on the news and talk about her kid getting teabagged!!!..."

Absolutely. You nailed it. That's why it seems phoney.

The mother turned the story into "..it's all about me..." And, if true that a vulnerable young teenager was sexually assaulted, then why parade his picture around...you know he won't be able to show his face to his friends.

I just think it sounds put up. I agree, that even if it were a joke, it's a very bad one.

I do agree that, apart from fraternity hazing in which guys know that something like this can happen, as well as spankings/paddlings etc., if someone "pretended" to nearly rape this kid as a joke, wihtout the kid being in on it, it's awful.

But the mother, please. What histrionics.

Googling it, I find one mention that it's an excerpt from a 20/20 piece about a high school basketball team. The incident apparently ended up getting the season cancelled, yadda yadda yadda. So it was already a very public story by the time 20/20 got around to it.

Decontextualized, it's hard not to find it sort of funny and very strange. It's a real comment on our culture's need to Jerry-Springer-ize everything, which of course, only reinforces (and rewards!) a pathological narrative.

OHhiker, I agree with your views on this subject. The mother is a media whore. That kid must have been like, "gee thanks Mom."

That kid's quite cute. I wouldn't mind tea bagging him. Now, where's that fruit basket?

Although the story may be real, I think the journalist is a lesbian.

As an aside, I always thought teabagging meant slapping your balls on someone's chin when they're giving you head. I think she's describing teabagging-lite.
