Weight Loss?

    I am 18 years old and I have years of fat on me that I just let compile and stack up. I feel that it is about time I do something about my weight, I do not want to be big all of my life and I think now is the perfect time for me to build by my body.

    Living situation is with my mother, and i do not have a car. Yes, i still have a friendship with my old Big Brothers Big Sisters match and we go to the YMCA almost every weekend ever since January 5th. I weigh 253lbs and have a 42" waist and 5 foot 11.

    Im gonna be honest, I am doing this for my self and personal gratitude for a portion, the other portion is because I want to meet someone and being big limits me to a certain degree (we all know being in shape makes it easier to find someone) and it is also attractive am I not right?

    I just want help with weight loss, and muscle gain/buildup.

    Arms=flabby
    Chest=Flabby
    Stomach= overlapped
    Ass= wide and flat

    protein: more
    fibre: more
    sugars and starches: less and earlier in the day
    strength training: more
    cardio: more
    sleep: more, and try to keep the schedule regularish

    keep it simple at first, you'll learn what works best for you as time goes on....

    start walking,,, work toward some light jogging, and keep doing this every day, also eat small light meals. low fat high protein..... begin tomorrow morning.icon_wink.gif

    Thank you for your help. just a few comments and questions,

    I am a senior in HS and i wake up at 6AM every weekday, I go to bed around 11 and lately its been 12 ish for me. I do work at a restaurant hosting so im always walking around checking for vacant tables. it doesnt feel like much exercise is going on for me other than that. i feel walking around all day wouldn't do anything, but if i was power walking id lose weight, am i right?

    I dont know what fibrous foods i can eat that are tasty, or any protein that would do me any justice. (please dont be mad for me not knowing)

    What do you mean by "sugars and starches: less and earlier in the day"? starches early in the day?

    I feel as if i am missing one more question but i cannot think of it icon_sad.gif

    Take a look at all nutrition labels. Look them up online for everywhere you eat out. It wll list protein, fibre and carbohydrates. You want more of the first two, they will make you fuller. You want less of the last one, especially in the evening. Stop drinking any soda, if you do, there's your first 20 pounds right there. Fruit is a tasty fibrous food, and make yourself eat at least some veggies. If you enjoy walking, then walk. Do whatever activity you like doing, and do it consistently. For example, I dance around like a moron in my apartment for an hour every day, it works for me.
