I love it when The Daily Show pulls up old video to make a point. In this case, Bush gave the same speech in 2003.

And if you click now, as a bonus you get to see McCain's series of daily announcements....

I know, I can't believe I get to watch Olbermann, Maddow AND Stewart to actually balance out Beck, O'Reilly, Hannity and Steve F-ing Doocy.

Some speech. I did not appreciate being robbed at gunpoint by W the other night. Think about it. Metaphorically, that's exactly what he is doing.

More accurately, our economy is currently being held hostage to the tune of a $700b ransom.

the only reason for all that panic is cuz it is the financial community themselves that are going down.

I keep hearing that warning that if we ask for ownership in the bailed companies or mess with their execs too much, then they might not participate in the bailout .... HELLO! ...then they dont really need the bailout that badly if they can choose not to participate.

    EXACTLY Caslon ....

They're in deep enough shit to ask for help but not deep enough for us to be fooling with their bonuses ....

If they do this thing it Better have that provision on cutting CEO pensions and be given out in increments not the whole 700 B at once

... also there better be enough eyes on where and how this money's spent that people get tired of looking at it

Because this administration fleeced the treasury of this country enough

    Quoted for truth.

The whole thing has been blown up for the oligarchy currently in command to get as much as they can before the election. Clearly the haves and have mores don't think McCain (or Obama) will benefit them as W has.

"At this point, my strong sense is that the best thing that I can do, rather than to inject presidential politics into these delicate negotiations, is to go down to Mississippi and explain to the American people what is going on and my vision for leading the country over the next four years," Obama told reporters aboard his campaign plane as they prepared to travel to Mississippi.

One candidate is interested in doing whats best for the nation.

The other candidate is trying to pull stunts and appear like a knight in shining armor. Ultimately he just ended up looking like an ASS!
