    An excerpt:

It is now our generation’s task to carry on what those pioneers began. For our journey is not complete until our wives, our mothers, and daughters can earn a living equal to their efforts. Our journey is not complete until our gay brothers and sisters are treated like anyone else under the law – for if we are truly created equal, then surely the love we commit to one another must be equal as well.

    He mentioned Stonewall as well.

The president liberals have been waiting for has (finally) arrived

    Chris Cillizza 1:14 PM ET

To distill Obama's speech to a single sentence: "I'm the president, deal with it."

Obama gives a good speech. He doesn't have the best record on delivering what he says. But mentioning gay rights in an inaugural address will give them a status they haven't had, even before the Supreme Court, I believe.

That was kind of my feeling, too. It's a first.

    yes

"We, the people, declare today that the most evident of truths -- that all of us are created equal -- is the star that guides us still; just as it guided our forebears through Seneca Falls, and Selma, and Stonewall..."

    Agree

I think his heart is there ...... Hopefully this time he will be able to get more of his agenda completed... now that the right wing asshole republicans ... don't have to obstruct and worry
about making him a one term president
