So I am headed to the Windy City for a long weekend and am looking for ideas of things to do while I am there. I have been several times so I want to go off the typical touristy path and find some of the hidden treasures. I tend to do well with my own random wandering in most cities I visit when traveling. If you RJers have some suggestions or favorite spots I should check out though, I would appreciate the beta.

    Thx in advance!

There was a similar forum on this topic just three days ago. Lots of good suggestions there.

If you are into a truly awesome shit show experience, check out Second Story Bar on Ohio St right off Michigan Ave. Happy hour, just for something random.

And go ice skating at Millennium Park. Bring your own skates if you have them. It's free that way, and no waiting in line for the rental. Completely gorgeous and romantic urban setting, IMHO better than Rockefeller Center.

Just came back from Chicago. Two excellent dining recommendations if you're any kind of foodie:
