Hey, ive slept about 4 hours in the last few days. I have been trying to figure out wether my existence ends when my brain dies or what. Its hard to believe the picture books of the stupid fucking christians, or any hoax old time bullshit. Anyone who has research on the matter of life after death let me know. I have been studying dmt and its role as a dimensional gateway. But if time is just an illusion, and life as is what makes that illusion possible, then when my life ends, will i just freeze frame and thus ending my space time continuum, and existence. Help me figure this out, i cant sleep

I had to restate this. I AM NOT CURRENTLY TAKING DMT, i have once, but i am more interested in its role in life after death, read DMT the spirit molecule.

Um... wtf. Well glad to see your not going with the bible BS answers icon_wink.gif

Well first off you should probably drop all the mumbo about time and illusions. It's a pretty nice miracle your alive to begin with. And yes, you never existed for X unknown time before and after you die that's it, any memories or whatever you've gained end with brain death. It's not so much the research but the lack of it. Without solid finding to point to any sort of beyond the grave consciousness nobody should believe in any of that junk.

At least that's what we must realize lacking any evidence for any other possibility.

I think this statement from wiki sums it up nicely: (NDE = Near Death Experience)
In a new theory devised by Kinseher in 2006, the knowledge of the Sensory Autonomic System is applied in the NDE phenomenon. His theory states that the experience of looming death is an extremely strange paradox to a living organism - and therefore it will start the NDE: during the NDE, the individual becomes capable of "seeing" the brain performing a scan of the whole episodic memory (even prenatal experiences), in order to find a stored experience which is comparable to the input information of death. All these scanned and retrieved bits of information are permanently evaluated by the actual mind, as it is searching for a coping mechanism out of the potentially fatal situation. Kinseher feels this is the reason why a near-death experience is so unusual.
    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Near_death_experience#Biological_analysis_and_theories

Lacking sufficient evidence to point to any type of consciousness after brain death the logical answer is likely that your brain is just trying to process something it has never experienced before. That's where DMT comes in.Death can be traumatic. People brought back from near death are more likely just reliving jumbled memories than any spiritual nonsense. DMT was used as a method of testing if such experiences could be reproduced without the near death event.

I'd say your a victim of the TV culture. Sounds like you've been reading or watching one to many fantasies about alternative universes or alternate sates of being. It's really not that bad. Better just not existing than entering one of the multitudes of hells for homosexuals right icon_cool.gif

Since the two concepts are opposing, you both ignore the third possibility.

    .........................................RoofGardenHouse01.jpg

Think of your body like a home. A house without someone inside it is what; a useless nothing, a home for mice and bugs. Leave it idle long enough and it will eventually crumble to the ground. This is your body, but the life inside is what always made it something more than a construct and when the life moves out, it settles somewhere else.

    .................................Photobucket

I strongly believe that for life, the process is neverending and every body offers a doorway that a life can enter when homeless. Most people think of a human body as life. That's not life, a courpse is a human body, an empty shell with no life inside it! It's that inside that counts and that is not a body, it is life and a body is simply it's home.

    .........................PhotobucketPhotobucketPhotobucket

I've done a lot to say I believe in reincarnation, but in no way connected to religion. I think the process is completely natural and it makes sense: nature is the only thing we can trace back to the beginning. We can't trace gods or fairies. I think the world is substained on old energy that has been recycled over and over again, as old as nature. Reuse is what nature is: your body, your waste, and even the air you breathe is reused as part of a cycle. So to is your life, it goes on. Don't worry, not a buddhist here. I think only a human (life) can utilize a human home (body) the way it was intended. If a bug or rat moves in, it is just to aid in the natural process of decay that must occur.

Are we talking a specific possibility or a generalized open slot for whatever possibility people have been indoctrinated into?

I think you should forget what might be and be comfortable with now. NOW is what you really know at any point. While an accumulation of knowledge is useful and inevitable, where you really live is in the present. If there is a future for you, as far as perception, it will always be framed by what you are now.

There is enough wonder and bliss in exploring your mind here and now, it becomes pointless to dwell too much on a "hereafter" To get "there" you have to start "here". Maybe you should read up on Buddhism and Taoism that helps you explore the nature of your own mind.

Is that what you do when you drive? If you don't have a slight idea of what lies ahead, you won't have time to correct and could cause an accident.

So you are using a drug [DMT] to see if you can find the meaning [and therefore end] of life...this seems a bit cliche...

...put the drugs away and get some sleep...I imagine your brain will feel better in the morning...and perhaps clearer in figuring this out...

    - David icon_wink.gif

And I have to say 'GuiltyGear' that was one of the most intriguing and reasonable explanations of reincarnation...

well for 1, dmt is something far more than a drug, and i know people say that about everything, but how fast you can deconstruct yourself, and truths you learn on the chemical are amazing. Read DMT - the spirit molecule, it is interesting, still has MANY gaps, but it is interesting. And im not taking the drug, when you die the chemical gets excreted into your brain, and there is a link to that and the blinding white light (i have done the chemical once, and that did happen). I am far from bingeing on any drug

and ya, "guiltygear", that did help a bit thanks. Its hard to just forget about it and continue on, if it could end at any point.

Jesus Christ, the Son of God, is the answer.

Or you can try having a near death experience to see for yourself. Also, I would lay off any drugs claiming to take you to the other side, however briefly.

Reeks or hallucination and not an authentic experience. icon_confused.gif

i like to draw pictures of jesus taking it up the ass from david bowie, dont feed me you picture book nonsense, I wont tell people what to believe, but ill see it as a downside if they are still basing everything off the book of 101 contradictions. I just can't understand how gay people can believe in something that does not quite condone them. And like i said, im not taking the chemical now, there is in depth research on dmt, and life after death.

well all I know is that there is a soul and an afterlife because when you have had as many experiences that I have had with ghosts you would believe it too

but dont you want to ask questions? There should be more to it then just accepting what things seem to be, and what things are. I have also seen my fare share of ghosts.

This is a good exercize for your mind. It is important to keep an open mind about all of these unresolved issues. Your mind is really active right now so that is why you can not sleep. Eventually, you will get tired of thinking about this because there is no solution in our present knowledge and then you will drift off into wonderful dream filled sleep. Good night!!

I think your consciousness is gone and your body rots in the ground (or however you choose to have it disposed of).

Damage to the brain can completely change a person's personality. Looking at the Phineas Gage incident... it's hard to think of our personality and 'soul' as more than chemical reactions in the brain. =/

I still can't help feeling that it is more gullible to believe in the "eternal rest" of materialists than what seems to me a more realistic expectation of more mountains to climb, fears to face, problems to solve, alarm clocks to turn off, etc.

Huh? If you're interested in DMT, read Terrence McKenna's work on the subject or watch his videos on Youtube.

Watch out for the elves when you take that shit.
