Not that we didn't already know that Russia isn't so welcoming of the gays, but heaven forbid should you try to brainwash people with your gayness.

Sounds like what the Republican Party is doing here in the US. To prevent us promoting our notorious gay agenda in the schools and to children. The Tennessee Republican Party made it illegal to even say the word "gay" in schools.

I agree 100%. Both the US and Russia need to wake up and smell the coffee.

It sounds like the notorious 'section 28' in the UK in the 1980s, all wrapped up in the political correctness of protecting children, etc.

I believe the "don't say gay" bill died a quiet death in the Tennessee House last year after the Senate had passed it earlier. This was at the height of the presidential campaign, around the time the infamous "ligitimate rape" comments made the rounds on the news, and the Republicans didn't want another incidence of showing that they are indeed the party of stupid. So they dropped the effort then, but they may get back to it if no one is looking.

If they make the word gay illegal in schools, tough shit. We'll come up with slang, or hell, Homo, I've always loved the sound of homo.

I do a killer Russian accent. It's actually based on my cousins from Israel but they sound identical.

This article is funny because I was just saying to my friend at work today that about 65% of kids movies deal with romantic love between a male and a female, and that I was going to turn the tides and make a badass action adventure with the love of two guys being its focus, a film so high quality that even the sourest critic will feel cornered.

Haha, this is just one of the many reasons that when I am successful I will need to wear a bullet proof vest, bullet proof nut cup, bullet proof glass helmet, bullet proof gloves, and bullet proof elbow + knee guards.

I had no idea Russia was so against faggot love. This makes me want to play a character in a high profile movie with my Russian accent, with a screen husband so cool that the haters in Russia will be hiding their boners.

They'll call me The Tide the way I'll make those guys rise.

Do that. But be aware it's as old as the hills. Ever heard of the epic of Gilgamesh? Two young guys take on all comers and spurn the advances of the Goddess? Possibly the oldest story on earth. Apologies Wikipedia only source with a decent summary.

No, it is not true and I wish people would take two minutes to Google something before they post it as fact based on a fuzzy memory of hearing something about it months ago.

A Tennesse legislator proposed a bill that came be known as the "Don't Say Gay" bill. The bill was withdrawn and did not go to a vote in the Senate.

I'm glad you brought that up, I wasn't familiar with that story--it sounds powerful. Either version sounds strong; "Surpassing All Other Kings" or "He Who Saw The Deep"

In the version I would do, one of the guys wouldn't die, mind you, as Enkidu did. It's cool that the goddess was pissed that Gilgamesh wouldn't go for her.

This will be a movie meant to send kids over the moon, not into the mournful pits of sorrow we misrepresented manly homos know so well. On those grounds I'd be willing to argue that this story has not been done before. Happy ending homo heroics? That, my friend, is new soil.

The discussion of the bill by Duma is also may be considered as propaganda. Should all the parliaments of State Duma be also fined?

While keeping the embargo against Cuba where anything gay is completely legal. Funny how gay Americans are allowed to travel to Russia but not Cuba.

I can't believe we still keep this embargo and travel ban against Cuba in place. It's been pointless for decades but no American president has been willing to admit its futility. It's more than a little silly considering Cuba was embargoed because they're a communist nation, meanwhile the largest trade partner the U.S. has is communist China. How's that for hypocrisy.
