What's more pathetic, guilt by association, reprieve by association, or chumming up to one of the bad girls so that you think you're cool.

Invite him as a friend or as a statement?

    Maybe sleeping with the enemy?

Learn to extend grace, people. It's hard for people to come to understand when they've never had a friend that's gay. He's coming to understand.

Yes, it makes him a lot less of a bigot.

These two people have set aside a disagreement and are better off for it, we are all better off for it. He has stopped donating to traditional marriage groups, what else do you want?

I agree - people evolve and grow. Clearly, Dan Cathy has.

Does Dick Cheney having a gay daughter make him any less of a Republican?

    A) A public apology would be nice. Or is all that grace expected from us at no charge to him?

    B) How about donating to causes such as GLAAD to help promote Gay Pride, or would that be asking too much to have him help undo some of the damage he's already done? Hell, after the crap he threw at us, we want to see a fucking filet-o-cow floating at our most populated parades before we even consider rethinking this and inviting him to our weddings.

    C) Am I mistaken--could be but this asshole with the girls last name doesn't matter enough for me to check myself--but wasn't the issue that he himself personally was donating to anti-gay groups, never mind that his company did as well? And wasn't that an issue because it is a privately held company so it matters what the CEO supports with his personal money moreso than might have been had the company been publicly traded, because that means not just his salary but the very profits off gay and gay-friendly people directly harm themselves by paying for & eating his shit?

If that is the case, then isn't this story nothing but fucking spin by saying that the company books have been checked by gay Uncle Benedict Tom Arnold telling us that the company isn't directly funding our enemies while the story completely avoids exposing who Cathy himself might personally fund?

I'd hate to cast aspersions on someone suddenly being cast in the light of being a friend to our community--especially as we all know how easy it is for people to change on our dime and become who they weren't just five minutes ago--so by all means do your own due diligence. Think.

I thought so too. Doesn't seem like a bad guy but I could never get into his schtick. As to the inadvertent reference, ya, I caught that, just happened to work out, torn between saying gay uncle tom and gay benedict arnold: the actor got morphed in. Apologies to the Arnold family.

Well I'd like him to apologize for using coporate money, money given to him by the customers, to give to people against equality for gays and lesbians.

I'd like for him have some sort of event in junction with Chick Fil A and some gay group or maybe just donate to GLAAD or something.

And I don't think this makes him less of a bigot. I have 'friends' who are white who dislike black people by and large but consider me 'different'.

"I think that the races weren't meant to mix, but that doesn't mean I hate blacks...my best friend is black!"

    Sound familiar, Dan Cathy?

Boy, some gay guys are so gullible and desperate for hetero table scraps they'll fall for anything. The Stockholm Syndrome suffered by gays continues to be disheartening.

Words without work mean nothing. Let Dan Cathy march along gays and put his money where his mouth is and prove it.
