The few guys who have said that they were in China I've seen post on a gay forum have all said "I am in China, so I have to find a straight woman to give me kids so my family's bloodline and name continues". It's said as casually as "I'm Canadian, so I pour milk out of a bag instead of a carton."

So mind-bogglingly fucked to me. Making mom & pop (who don't seem to love you) happy is worth fucking up some poor straight girl's life, and starting a new life off in a soon-to-be broken home. I need to find a new planet soon.

It's the classic tug of war between Taoism and Confucianism. Go with the flow in Taoism doesn't give a damn about gay sex, as Taoism is, at its heart, about respecting natural phenomena, including same-sex phenomenon. It's the rigid confused Confucius who created a patriarchal system that imprisoned the majority of China. While Confucianism is simple to follow, Taoism takes a lot more brain and enlightenment. Buddhism doesn't fucking care what you do for sex.

progress yes..but at the same time..the female to male ratio..is kinda unsettling. China has too many males.A long history of son preference, particularly among the Han majority, has led to female infanticide and the neglect of daughters in some parts of China. But in recent decades, the spread of cheap ultrasound (enabling sex-determination in early-mid pregnancy) and easy access to abortion courtesy of the government's one-child policy, has led to the widespread abortion of female fetuses. As a result, approximately 30 million more men than women will reach adulthood and enter China's mating market by 2020. Im just curious to see how their society will rebound or further develop with the acceptance of same sex unions.

Its great to see China making tremendous progress in terms of gay rights. That is more than I could say about oppressive, conservative places like Uganda, Iran, Russia, Haiti, Texas, and Idaho.

Conservatism makes no difference. Look at the Left wing dictatorships. They oppressed huge amounts of people. They weren't conservative.

I point to Soviets, Maoists and Nazis.

From the link: "A Chinese court has called for legislation that would make it easier for straight women married to gay men to get out of their marriages."

Of course, if it were not for pressure to marry, "straight" women would not have that problem in the first place. What many people, even here in the U.S. of A. fail to understand, is that discrimination against gay persons encourages many gay persons to enter into opposite-sex marriages which are doomed from the start, to the detriment of everyone involved. Thus, those concerned with the sanctity of marriage, could reduce the divorce rate of opposite-sex marriages by supporting same-sex marriages and by opposing all discrimination against gay men and women.

When you get to the extreme ends of both conservative and left wing dictatorships, the meaning of left and right disappears. Both are top down power hierarchies. The left side at least pretends to be about egalitarianism while the right side is strictly a fear-based system but ultimately, the two meet.

they still exist in communities where evangelism/missionaries/preaching from Christian Asian exists.

If you've never been to an Asian church, I can tell you how much they want to convert their own people with their own language because religion.

Chinese students send 3,000 letters to urge lawmakers to legalize same-sex marriage

He didn't get a response after sending 100 letters to lawmakers last year, so he roped in 20 other students to send 2,900 more letters this time

Lol agreed with this, but hardcore Christians in general are just nutty. There's maybe a little extra nutty when they're Koreans. (I've seen K-Town series enough to know this haha). At original topic, I dated one gay Taiwanese guy in the past. He was okay. But that didn't count though because he grew up here in LA, and not China.
