I'm actually a little curious, but are there any of you who ended up becoming HIV+ despite practicing safe sex? Did you become positive because you used a condom with each partner you slept with or did you end up becoming positive in some other way (slip up and not use a condom, etc)? This is a bit of an ignorant post on my part, but I'd really like to know some of your stories if you're actually willing to share...

    thanks!

Would the corollary be equally instructive for you? I let my HIV+ former partner top me regularly, wearing a condom, and I also blew him while he wore a condom. I'm still negative. So in my case a condom appears to have protected against a known HIV infection risk.

RedWhiteBlue saidtangent: although HIV is an STI, it's not exclusively and STI

meaning, yes, you could get it via sex...but you could also get it from shooting up....including steroids....

you may want to simple google on transmission methods and there is a ton of data out there.....

I'm aware of that. I really wanted input on HIV and condom use because so many people seem to think condoms are 100% foolproof. I want to know of and understand instances where, despite condom use, someone actually ended up cstching the virus.
