And I might have the opportunity to ride it almost daily for the next 7 months.

    Should I do it?

PS. This gig starts in two weeks. I essentially have a week to decide.

    What a blast!
I love trails like that. I'll take a wide open desert trail over a forest, every time.

Oh I know...I know that all to well...spent 8 months there last year. But I didn't get into MTBing till moving back to FL, so now it'll be more fun than last time. The heat is excruciating, but I'll tolerate it if the trails are fun enough.

I've hiked desert trails, but haven't ridden them (yet), so it would be unfair to make a decision yet. I can say with certainty, though, that the forest trails here are nicely shaded and very comfortable to ride. It's nice to stop in the shade for water when you get tired.

looks like a great trail... and there's plenty of top rate riding around Scottsdale,
then you can drive to Tucson or north to Flagstaff and probably THE must ride place : Sedona ..
and you're only a few hours from Moab/Fruita area ;)

so, yeah, you should go. ;p

Yeah, I was just watching more videos of AZ trails last night. Hopefully I'll get the contract and get to ride all of them. They look like awesome fun!

Sunrise and late afternoons. The colors in that seemingly barren landscape will pop in that light and the temps swing. You'll probably want some local advice for a tire swap. On that dry, loose, trail, they should be grabbier than you're used to; might even go fat.

..and maybe puncture protection too. Couple times riding a trail like that I had baby rattlers snapping at my wheelsicon_twisted.gif

Hell yeah. Great rides around Sedona. After the thrill rides, just cruising the dirt back roads is an adventure. We found ancient ruins and a lion's cave on one casual wander.

I'll vacay out there in Sept for and ride a different trail every day for a week. That'll be more fun than living there again anyway. icon_lol.gif

yeah, that actually sounds like a better option .
how long will you be there ?
I always found after 6 days of intense riding - like 5 hours of riding per day , i had enough. My body needed to recoop so i'd get less and less enthusiastic.

I'll probably only stay 3-4 days. Right now I'm doing good to ride 2 hours a day for 3 days in a row...still building my endurance for longer rides.
