i would never drink water while working out. my thought was that it would simply add weight and having water in my stomach would make some exercises awkward. even worse, i'm the type of person that sweats like crazy so i probably lose about 20 gallons of water after my workout. so today was leg day, and i decided to bring a bottle of water knowing that on leg days i sweat profusely. OMFG what a huge difference it made! i couldn't believe that by simply drinking water i could gain so much energy! the squats, deadlifts, front squats were all so easy!

so yeah definitely drink water while working out! ;)

Maybe so, but remember that most of us need to be reminded to even breathe when we're doing bench presses. Never hurts to hear it again. icon_wink.gif

And having water in your stomach making you "weigh" more until you piss and sweat it out is was something you worried about because...?

Make sure you're hydrated before you work out... if the only water you drink during the day is during a workout icon_lol.gif

As a general rule, keep drinking until you start peeing clear. Then you're hydrated! Personally the easiest way I find / force myself to get enough water it to carry around a water bottle. You'd be surprised how much less crap you desire to drink (soda, etc) when you drink water throughout the day.

Agreed. My Nalgene is my best friend. I drink 2-3L a day in water alone. There's also the water in meal drinks, smoothies, and food.

Give this guy a break. We all learn something new that's so obvious to many others everyday. If you already know, think of it as a reminder; we often don't practise enough of the habits that are good for us.

Thanks OP for the reminder! Make sure your drink water throughout your work out!!

Water in my water bottles defeats the purpose of vodka in my water bottle.

Vodka is mostly water, so that counts.
