The irony is that the state motto of Wyoming is "Equal Rights".

Another rural, western state rejects anti discrimination protecting its GLBT citizens. Go figure.

We should petition them to change their motto to:

    Equal rights except the gays!

"The Wyoming state Senate narrowly rejected a bill yesterday that would have banned discrimination on the basis of sexual orientation or gender identity, the Casper Star-Tribune reported. The final vote was 13-15 and came just a few days after a Senate committee voted 4-1 to advance the legislation."

The vote was amazingly close, considering that Wyoming is one of the most conservative, least populated states in the union.

That it was even considered and was this close shows how far we've come. In the next few years, the bill may actually pass.
