I remember this one time in town (about 3 years ago) we got a little bit of snow. The whole town literally shut down, kids went outside to play, and parents came with them. It was cool seeing a little town come together and just have stress-free FUN!

I wish we got snow here. I would love snow! To you people that get it - just know their is a gay little southern boy out there who wishes he was playing in it 24/7 icon_sad.gif

Mmm I still remember when I woke up one morning and the snow blocked the entrance of my house. It was about 150cm high! Fun shoveling all that though icon_biggrin.gif

    yourname2000 saidYup.

We had an awful winter here in Vancouver. We were buried in snow once, probably as much as 4" outside my place....and it lasted well into the next day. The city pretty much shut down, natural disaster style. And on top of that, there was a couple of weeks or so where it got unbelievably cold....like it literally was "freezing". At one point, water outside actually froze into a solid block of ice in a dish on my balcony....and that went on for at least a week (nuts!) And it was slippery in the morning ---even on cement or pavement in some shoes. Crazy stuff.

But now the crocuses are well up, the primulas are out everywhere. My neighbour's garden has some good sized lettuce and kale (resprout from last year). Thankfully the plants in the planter outside my store survived through all of that horror. I'm going to the garden centre tomorrow actually to pick something for spring.

Feb 1. Yay! Survived another one.

Really? Back home we'd get 5' of snow on occasion, and it be warm at -20...

Well, 5 inches isn't that much worse.

As to the other part...there are minus temperatures? icon_eek.gif

    5' is five feet.

Sometimes I wish that instead of falling slowly, all the snow would fall at once. Maybe it could make a nice fwomp sound.

Agreed, snow is beautiful in the air, not on the floor...

10+" of snow yesterday in Syracuse, courtesy of Lake Ontario. And it was light, some places north of here had 2+ feet from this event. I spent the work day making piles of snow, mostly with a shovel.

Happy Groundhog Day- 47 days until the vernal equinox!

Shoveled snow in the Blizzard of '77 in western NY, almost died in a blizzard in 1993. But I LOVE snow and miss seeing it in VA. Past two years only a dusting, but big storm in 2009.
