I've never been a big fan of working my upper body, but over the last year I've gone from benching 115 to 175. Which seems kind of slacking, because I've used a "low row" weight machine and have gone from 50 lbs to 230 in the the same time, and I find it easier to do more reps, and add weight regularly to my low row, and other back exercises like pull downs, and stuff.

Granted the difference between doing 4 or 5 sets of 8 rep bench presses at 175 and 3 or 4 sets of 12 reps seems to be not a huge amount of difference, but it it something I should think about not pushing my back and letting my chest "catch up"?

Is there a good balance between what you should be able to press vs row? I'm pretty jazzed about my improvement, just because my low rows are about what my body weight is, and my press is almost my lean body mass. So it's like a 20% difference in weight between the two.

Just curios, and thanks for reading.
