I miss the more innocent bygone days when being used for sex was more of a long term thing.

Nobody's ever used me for sex when I wasn't using them for sex, too. It's called tricking. If you know what you're doing, it doesn't merit a lot of drama. What did you think YOU were doing? Getting engaged? But whatever it was, I hope it was safe. icon_confused.gif

One night stands can be a much-needed release, a fun exploration, and just a little warmth and comfort on a cold winter's night.

Your issue is that you want more from people that don't actually want more, and you aren't reading the signs right to know that is all that's on-offer with them.

Personally, though I prefer intimacy in a relationship, I have to say one night stands have their place.

Just wait until your 50s/60s when people stop objectifying you.

Be careful what you wish for.

I've had my share of those types of guys. What I don't like is when guys state in their profiles that they are not looking for hook ups but in truth they are...

Does this mean your pictures are fake?

Cause if not, you have yourself displayed as a piece of meat.

Then, by all means, keep a nickel between your knees, and save your precious genitalia until you're safely and legally married.

    Roll my eyes.

    Sheesh.

    IT'S SEX.

    We're supposed to enjoy it.

This is what happens when you hang out in "rough trade" kinds of bars.

    1. Behold! The "Urinal Gag"!

    2. Insert and secure.

"It's sex" isn't an applicable philosophy to everyone. Not everyone views that form of physical connection as just being an "it". I personally believe there's something entirely too intimate about sex to be shared with someone you hardly know.

Some people enjoy one-night stands. Some don't. It's just how it is. Personally they damage me emotionally so I don't engage in them.

do you mean there are options in between only having sex with someone you've made a legal commitment to and random one-night stands with strangers?

    +1

I know *I* have enjoyed it. I had lots of mindless sex until I had sex with a guy who interested me, and who seemed interested in me, as well. That's how it works. "E Pluribus Unum" - from many, one.

No, we don't. Not everyone has that problem. Only some gay people seem to have that curse.

I'm sorry you keep being treated that way. Well, were exactly are you meeting these men at? Personally, I stay away from tings like Grindr, craigslist, and gay clubs because finding a genuine relationship-type of guy through those places is nearly impossible.
