Looks like Paris is pulling ahead of London on the same sex marriage issue. I will admit I found it to be an interesting race between these two states over who will legalize it first.

I assumed France passed that bill long ago. Just because it seems like such a gay country.
Well anyway, this is good news.

Denmark took a bit of time given that registered partnership was legal in Denmark in 1989. The first country in the world with such kind of legal rights for homosexuals. I guess after that they didn't really bothered about marriage and all.

This is great news! I hope the French Senate does the right thing and approves same-sex marriage. C'est Magnifique!

Now that the battle is nearly over in France and the United Kingdom I wonder which state is next in line. I'm curious to see if this battle moves into Ireland and Germany next for Europe and Brazil for Latin America.

I hope France legalizes gay marital equality. It would be awesome if the US, the UK, Brazil, and Australia did the exact same thing but the backward, conservative opposition keeps obstructing progress.

Canada ... some provinces (Ontario, Then British Columbia) were earlier... in 2003... and just those two covered 50% of the population. I was married myself 3 days after the decision by the courts in Ontario of 10 June 2003.

Even the conservative Province of Alberta has gay marriage and Canada's oil rich province didn't disintegrate or violently implode from gay marital equality.
